About the book Minimalism 2.0 - The Discovery of Simplicity: Throw Ballast Overboard! (Minimalism: Declutter your life, home, mind & soul) We live too fast, rush through overfull days, and there is always too much lying around. But that could change. Because: In every one of us is the stuff of the time-millionaire. We ourselves are the ones who turn the clock, because we are stuffing more and more into our everyday lives, and that makes our precious time of life short. We do not have too little time, but too much to do. In this way we ourselves bring the hectic pace into our lives, which we want to avoid. Never really get to the point, and always thinking somewhere else. A simple life with more success, freedom, happiness, money, love and time - that's what we all want. But in our modern performance-oriented society, however, this simplicity often falls by the wayside: consumption, ownership and performance seem to be the more important values, at least superficially. Minimalism as a way of life refers to a way of living that enables everyone to concentrate on the essential things. Minimalism can, but does not have to cover all areas of life. Whoever decides to want to live minimalistically, usually does so very consciously. The motives are almost always similar: # Pressure to perform and career constraints: Too much stress at work, in studies and in leisure time # Excessive lifestyle...body worship, shopping and social media communication: overtaxed by exaggeration and abundance # Manipulation by the marketing industry: social coercion to possess certain consumer goods Minimalism means self-determination and self-realization. Do not let others or society dictate what a good and right life should look like. Freeing yourself from black and white thinking, reducing ownership and responsibilities to save time and money and have more energy for family, friends, hobbies and travel. Start today by making the most of your life and building a positive mindset. Becoming a MINIMALIST...begins in the HEAD!

Seminar paper from the year 2016 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1,7, University of Applied Sciences Aalen, language: English, abstract: This paper describes a detailed, qualitative exploration of social behavior concerning interaction and communication on individuals of different age and gender on the basis of a hidden observation within a bakery in southern Germany. The existing literature states a drastically change in values regarding diverse generations, which is consistent with the authors results. The first outstanding finding of the investigation was the generational difference in personal interaction between the customer and the cashier. The second significant discovery was the different perception of time amongst younger and older individuals in the process of shopping at a bakery. This leads to the assumption that productivity and efficiency surpass the desire for social contact. Therefore, this finding provides an important contribution towards better understanding generational distinctions in behavior and the altered conception of time as a resource.
When Gwen´s grandfather disappears from their home in New York City, he leaves a message saying not to worry, but that´s hard when Gwen has upcoming violin auditions at Julliard! But then she meets Robert, a fellow musician, and things seem to look up. At the same time, there are other forces in motion, like the scary great uncle who keeps coming by, and the strange man Gwen sees one day when shopping. Then there´s the even stranger story Robert tells her about what she saw. And finally, there´s a discovery that brings their worlds to a halt, uniting Gwen and Robert in ways neither of them could have foretold. In this remarkable follow-up to the wildly popular Things Not Seen, Andrew Clements brings readers a multi-layered story all about art, friendship, love, and life. 1. Language: English.
