Train Is a Comin'
Theodore (Ted) 'Tah' Henning II was first inspired to write Naked Gadarene Man after an 11 year hiatus from songwriting. He wrote it in about thirty minutes! As he mused about the song, an angel of God literally spoke to him and said, 'Now go sing it to prisoners in jail.' This voice spoke to him three times this same command. After meeting Chp. Don Anderson, they two began a three and a half year association doing mini-crusades in the local county jail. In the process, God inspired Theodore with more songs that ministered God's loving message to prisoners everywhere. TRAIN IS A COMIN' is an outgrowth recording of some of those inspirational songs. Recorded at Grayham's Studio315, a whole host of vocalists and musicians collaborated for the project. Notables are Terry Scherrer who played bass on all songs, Billy English provided drums and percussion, Gary Carpenter did peddle steel guitar, Kirk Rutherford lead guitar, Sherry Hill did a guest violin spot, Joseph Bunger did several keyboard arrangements and Larry Ray Reed provided his Saxaphone expertise. All in all, we hope you enjoy these inspirational songs in a variety of genre styles. The Biblical messages contained in them are timeless.- Shop: odax

Pickup Truck
Like most bands this one is an outgrowth of earlier incarnations. Long had the two songwriter guitarists Peter and Phil (recently bereaved of their old band Vellum) sat huddled in their basement sandbox, cranking out tune after tune, only to be abandoned by erstwhile lead mandolinists, lady bassists and zoo-mad drummers. It was indeed a 'Sorry' state of affairs when the vocally-challenged dismal duo was finally annointed by grace and given a new lease on their musical existences by the addition of a true singer, Allison. Though perhaps self effacing to a fault, the newly-minted trio nevertheless embarked upon a grand journey, a journey of personal growth, a journey of vocal legitimacy. The first demo CD was still full of laments, based upon the earlier anguish of surviving a band on the rocks but the re-build was strongly underway. It could be said that this 'new confidence' gelled at an early performance at a local gathering of psychiatric luminaries, wherein one of the audience members told the band afterword that they were 'not bad, not bad at all'. Among the aforementioned laments was, of course, despite Allison's vocal boost, a deep seated unmet need for a 'bassman or a drummer'. This was an on-going challenge for the band but, as luck would have it, and just at the critical moment, the talented drummer Paul came along through the community grapevine, to join up and round out the line-up. With the addition of Paul, the band is definitely on the up and up, and the Pickup Truck album seems proof of he pudding.- Shop: odax

About this CD: n 1978, the idea of creating a State Symphony Radio and Television Orchestra developed as an outgrowth form the need to broadcast the symphonic repertoirs of the 18th an 20th centuries throughout Russia for the benefit of it's citizens. It was decided the orchestra should broadcast parformances on a weekly basis, a concept based upon the BBC Symphony Orchestra's very successful radio series in the United Kingdom. The orchestra expanded it's activities into film work for Russian, European and American feature film productions as well as Russian television soundtrack. It also collaborated with European television, including projects with the Italian RAI and German ZDF. In 1980 the orchestra created a major subscription series in Moscow's Tchaikovsky Hall. This 36 week subscription series has been a success since it's first inaugural season. In addition, the orchestra has toured extensively throughout Europe with concerts in Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Korea, China and Hong Kong. And they have just returned a tour across America, that was organized by Columbia Artist Inc. And turned out to be a real success.- Shop: odax
