A creationist would tell you God created heaven, earth, the skies above it, and everything beyond. God created humans in his image. We are here to serve, not command.   An evolutionist may say the universe was created with a flash bang and that Earth is a small part of a bigger picture. We are here to ensure the perpetuity of the species. We think, therefore we are.  Steve Launse thought it all academic. To him, God was a device that drove humans to achieve. We advanced because we needed to believe. We had to believe, and thus we grew. We created God, who created us.   Then, one day, the government knocked at his door and handed him a blank check. "You can prove your theory," they said. "I don't play with human emotions," he said. They answered, "We are not talking about humans."  Decisions. A blank check. No restraint. No limits. What does one do? ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Lauren Sweet. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/121647/bk_acx0_121647_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.

Religious fundamentalists and biblical literalists present any number of arguments that attempt to disprove evolution. Those with a sympathetic ear often fail to critically examine these creationist claims, leading to an ill-informed public and, perhaps more troubling, ill-advised public policy. As Aron Ra makes clear, however, every single argument deployed by creationists in their attacks on evolution is founded on fundamental scientific, religious, and historical falsehoods - all of them. Among their most popular claims is that evolution is a religion, that there are no transitional species, that there are no beneficial mutations, and that supposedly sacred scripture is the infallible word of God. Yet, as the evidence and data plainly show, each of these claims is demonstrably and unequivocally false. There is simply no truth to creationism whatsoever, and the entire enterprise rests on a foundation of falsehoods. This book explains and exposes the worst of these lies, and should be listened to by all who honestly care about following the evidence no matter where it might lead in pursuit of the truth. ungekürzt. Both evolutionists and creationists should find this to be an interesting audiobook. There are questions posed from both sides of this ancient debate as to whether God created all that exists (creationists) or if it all evolved from nothingness in a continually forward progression for many eons (evolutionary theories). I will confess that I am creationist; however, I do give my fellow creationists much to ponder as well. At over 10,400 words in length, there's sure to be some nuggets of information that one might call "food for thought" within the words of this audiobook. Following is a chapters list:Chapter One: "Recognizing Old Earth Creationism Is Vastly Important" Chapter Two: "Questions Genesis Gap Refuters Don't Answer Specifically" Chapter Three: "Basic Logical Questions About Life Having Meaning and Purpose" Chapter Four: "Existing Evil and Mythical Gods Reasons to Doubt the Holy Bible?" Chapter Five: "Uninformed Opponents Still Trying to Tear Down the Biblical Genesis Gap" Chapter Six: "Varied Christian Opinions About Dinosaurs" Chapter Seven: "Two Different Catastrophic Floods Described Clearly Within the Holy Bible" Chapter Eight: "Facts That Anger Atheists That Science Can Never Answer" Chapter Nine: "Satan Fell Due to Pride and Not for Tempting Adam and Eve"  ungekürzt. Over the last 100 years, scientists in various fields have persuasively argued that the Earth was formed by evolutionary processes operating over long periods of time. How is a Christian to reconcile these ideas with the Genesis creation account? Doesn’t the Bible teach that God spoke the Earth into existence fully formed just 6,000 years ago?Dr. Ken Coulson answers these questions by affirming the legitimacy of large-scale natural processes without denying a young-age view. This book will enable the Christian to authentically and passionately portray science in a positive light, while at the same time easing some of the tension that currently exists between modern science and a faithful interpretation of Genesis 1Endorsements:“This book helps those of us who long to take our faith seriously grasp a creationist model that is thoroughly equipped to deal with the available scientific evidence. The church has long needed such a tool.” (Dr. Craig Lloyd, pastor of Grace Bible Church, Brisbane, Australia) “This book provides a much-needed reanalysis of creationism, creation apologetics, and a Christian philosophy of science. Readers will find their thinking challenged in a thoroughly Biblical way.” (Dr. Matt McLain, assistant professor of biology and geology, The Master's University, California) ungekürzt. I first critiqued Ken Wilber on his misunderstanding of evolution back in 1996, right after his book A Brief History of Everything was published. It has now been 18 years and if anything, Wilber has become even more firmly entrenched in his new brand of creationism, which ironically mimics much of what Christian fundamentalists object to about Darwinianism. And Wilber doesn't have to look far for alternative theories about how the universe came into being (see Stephen Hawking's Grand Design or Sean Carroll's From Eternity to Here for starters) without resorting to Eros pushing Chaos aside inside an atom so it can mate with others and create anew. Yes, we can debate the merits of evolution and astrophysics in trying to understand how the universe and life came into being. But in so doing, it is important to accurately present the arguments we oppose. Wilber has shown a tendency to abdicate that responsibility in his rush to push his creationist agenda. In so doing, and by avoiding the pertinent criticisms of Frank Visser and others, Wilber continues to tarnish his intellectual reputation. This book contains a series of essays analyzing Ken Wilber's views on evolution and intelligent design. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Jim D Johnston.
