How precious is the word of God? Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Yet though God's word is precious and nourishing to our hearts, minds, and souls, so few of us know it and know how to apply it.Power Up with God hopes to remedy this deficiency and help believers get the benefits of applying every word of God. We can read or hear the words from the preachers pulpit, but we will gain nothing until we begin to eat the word of God. The adage "you are what you eat" is true in both the physical and spiritual worlds, and unless we eat the word of God, we can become weak and sick, even to the point of death. If we go without food and water, we will become weak. And because we cannot live by bread alone, if we go without the spiritual nourishment of God's word, then we will become spiritually malnourished. Therefore, it is essential to read, study, and apply the teachings of the word, and Power Up with God will show you how to devote yourself to this spiritual diet and make your life happy and prosperous. ungekürzt. I wanted this book to be the story of the people, the conditions they faced, and how they met their challenges. It is about the family of my parents, Leland Eddy Bolt and Fern Leoline (Brubaker) Bolt. Their story is preceded by Leland and Fern's grandparents and parents, then my parents lives and accomplishments. The narration mentions some of their genealogical roots, at least what can be reliably proven. Many family members have contributed to this book as will be evident in the references and bibliography. Also, I must acknowledge the help and comments of others in the review process. Drew Rogers worked with his grandmother (Martha) and others on the Van Donge family details. Joan (Clemmons) Bolt provided lots of details developed by my cousin, Benjamin Hamele Bolt (deceased), on the Benjamin Draper Bolt family. Cousins Ann (Denman) Hultgren and Carol (Denman) Holst provided details about the Kenneth Denman and Margaret (Bolt) Denman Family. Cousins Mary (Collier) Buck and her brother, Michael Collier, helped with information on the Charles Collier and Hazel (Brubaker) Collier family. Cousin Melanie (Mordhorst) Entzminger helped with the Edward Mordhorst and Iris (Brubaker) Mordhorst families. Robert Van Donge and his sisters Carolee (Van Donge) White and Connie (Van Donge) Rogers provided details of the lives of their Van Donge parents. ungekürzt. Language: English. The year begins with the season of Advent, when we think of the first coming of Jesus into the world and the way in which it was prepared for his coming. Then follows Christmas, the well-known and popular festival when we remember the Saviour’s birth to a Jewish lady, Mary. This is followed by the Epiphany, when the Lord was first shown to the non-Jewish people, the Gentiles. Quite a significant event for those not of the Jewish faith. It is the first recorded time that the Lord was shown to non-Jewish people (Gentiles), reminding us that he came for everyone. Things move on rapidly to Lent, and the Lord’s life, which leads up to his Crucifixion. Appropriately, the solemnity of Lent and Holy Week is followed by the joyful season of Easter, when we celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord. Forty days on, and we celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord. It is not long after the Ascension that the church celebrates Pentecost (or Whitsun), when the Holy Spirit of God descended on the church and kick-started it into action — action that continues to this day! As you may know, the rest of the year, up until Advent, is taken up by the season of Trinity, with much teaching and many commemorations. I hope that you enjoy this tour through the Christian year and that it deepens and makes more relevant your practice of faith in Christ Crucified, Risen, and Ascended. ungekürzt. Why can we not quit worrying and ruminating? Even though we want to quit ruminating, we spend a considerable amount of time doing it, days as well as sleepless nights. All in all, we can spend months and years of our lives ruminating and brooding, even though it only makes us feel worse. Why did I say that? Why did I not get that job? Why did he get a bigger raise than me? Don't they like me?Kind advice from friends, and even from therapists, often contributes to making ruminations worse, rather than decreasing them. For instance, to use distraction in order to stop rumination can be relieving in the moment but is no cure. For lasting change, you have to teach your brain to stop producing discomforting thoughts. That is what this audiobook is about.Olle Wadström explains why we ruminate, what drives ruminations, and why they are so hard to stop. He also provides different tools that are useful, as well as explanations as to why things should be done in the way he presents them."I have been working with a patient with severe anxiety and depression problems, where ruminations have been very prominent. Progress with traditional CBT was quite small. After reading your book, I presented your model to the patient, who said he was willing to work with it. Pretty soon, we both noticed that it showed powerful results. Now, a while later, the results are incredible, almost like magic!" The music equivalent of 'The Little Black Dress.' It's mainstream music, dressed up at times with hints of Jazz or down with a Country-Cross Over sound, it Pops and rocks with a Soulfully smooth edge. It's Chick Rock with Tomboy Attitude! Listen as Kristina roars, purrs, or simply cries out a tune. She is most often compared with the likes of Sheryl Crow, Michelle Branch and Melissa Ethridge. BIO: It's the classic girl next door who likes to write music and sing, meets a guitarist that rocks and takes her and her songs to places she had only imagined in her wildest dreams. Yeah, it's like that, only cooler! Kristina and Dan Furey, are a married couple who thought maybe they could make beautiful music together. It started out as an experiment to see what would happen if they took an original song and recorded it to CD. The result of the experiment was a new talent, similar to what it would sound like if Billy Squier and Michelle Branch recorded together, which brought out all the fans who'd been waiting for that phenomenon to occur. These new fans demanded the experiment be extended until there was a full CD, of this rocking, soulful music. That's it. There's no more story. You can't make this stuff up, well actually you can and they do. That's right, they're making it up as they go along. However, there really is no more bio. If you want the whole story get the CD, check out the weekly blogs at Myspace and sign up as fan at Reverbnation so you can hear the latest on what Kristina and Dan are up to.
