Das Album bringt Quilts aktuelle Ausrichtung, ihre wunderbare Mischung aus Folk, Pop-Psych, ihr ästhetischen Gesamtkonzept komplett auf den Punkt. Die Gitarren schimmern und schwellen, die Orgeln und Synths sorgen für einen stimmungsintensivierenden Hintergrund und die Drums machen das Ding deep. Es gibt Flöten, Harfen, ein Streichquartett, majestätische Flügel und fiepende Casios, aber auch ordentlich Feedbacks und Zerre. Und es gibt tolle Melodien, mal mehrstimmigen Gesang und mal Solo-Stimmen, viel Leichtigkeit und auch Nostalgie, die mal an die Beatles und auch an 70ies-Westcaost-Sound erinnert. Ah, the beauty of putting together a recording without any input from anyone else! I came up with the band name (band name is somewhat of a misnomer, as I'm an one-man act), Sporadic Behavior, from an error message I received while doing some computer work. It seemed to fit the odd array of songs that I've come up with, and also, subliminally references mushroom spores. The album title, Lo-Fidelity, comes from the fact that I put this together using a 2-input, 8-track, TASCAM digital workstation. I've included all hums, hissing, and popping for no extra charge! Girlfriend Left.............................. A rocker that takes a light hearted jab at the homogeneous, current counrty music scene. C Hung b3....................................... A classical guitar duet with backing piano, in the key of Cm using a Hungarian scale. Funky Marshmallows.................. A pseudo jazz club experience, with a meandering story line. Jesus Is Coming!......................... New-Age gospel, with a fully orchestrated string section (thanks, Yamaha keyboards). (Too Much) Rum In The Sun...... A funky, St. Thomas, V.I., Meyer's rum drinking flashback. Mirage............................................ Melodic, minor- key instrumental, that has the heat coming off the asphalt. Can't Decide................................. Written in 1978, a three-chord rocker. It's about making, or not making choices. 1605 W. 31st............................... A somber look back on the South Minneapolis days of my youth. Bluegrass Noodle...................... An instrumental melding mandolin with the sounds of a back country road. Las Turistas............................... A long, (two takes run together), look at Santa Fe from a motel front desk, (my day job). Got Spaced................................
