I went to good schools and was a selfish, confused kid. I stayed that way, pretty much. I am getting better, thanks to God. I wouldn't say I'm a born-again Christian because I have always been a Christian, at least by name. But.... I certainly feel a lot different than I used to. I have a brother (Terry) and a sister (Gretchen, who helped me a lot with all the artwork on Progress Not Perfection). The three of us are alive and well, raising families, trying to keep doing the next right thing. In 2007, I was graduated (English major, can you tell...) from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I was blessed to meet a beautiful woman (Kristine) who was kind enough to marry me. We have four children (Lauren, Megan, Peter & Jack). We are an active family of 6. I travel a lot for work (insurance) and Kristine keeps the kids on tethers until I return. Just kidding, cellphones seem to work ok. I love music. I started playing guitar when I was 12. I took one lesson: hot cross buns. From that point, I'm pretty much self-taught. I played in bands in high school. In 1982, I received a recording engineering degree from Full Sail (still in business!). I continued playing until I was 28, then hung it up until 2003. I didn't start playing "real" guitar or writing decent songs until I started thinking straight, which was just a few years ago. I asked a good friend if I should keep the music in my basement. If he hadn't urged me to share the songs, they'd still be in it.
