Donnie Darko
Fifteen years before Stranger Things combined science fiction, Spielbergian touches and 80s nostalgia to much acclaim, Richard Kelly set the template - and the high-water mark - with his debut feature, Donnie Darko. Initially beset with distribution problems, it would slowly find it's audience and emerge as arguably the first cult classic of the new millennium. Donnie is a troubled high school student: in therapy, prone to sleepwalking and in possession of an imaginary friend, a six-foot rabbit named Frank, who tells him the world is going to end in 28 days, 06 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds. During that time he will navigate teenage life, narrowly avoid death in the form of a falling jet engine, follow Frank's maladjusted instructions and try to maintain the space-time continuum. Described by it's director as "The Catcher in the Rye as told by Philip K. Dick", Donnie Darko combines an eye-catching, eclectic cast - pre-stardom Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, heartthrob Patrick Swayze, former child star Drew Barrymore, Oscar nominees Mary McDonnell and Katharine Ross, and television favorite Noah Wyle - and an evocative soundtrack of 80s classics by Echo and the Bunnymen, Tears for Fears and Duran Duran. This 4K restoration by Arrow Films allows a modern classic to receive the home video treatment it deserves- Shop: odax

Ain't Them Bodies Saints
Academy Award Nominees Rooney Mara (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, SIDE EFFECTS) and Casey Affleck (THE KILLER INSIDE ME, GONE BABY GONE) star as a pair of doomed lovers separated by prison bars and miles of desert wasteland in AIN'T THEM BODIES SAINTS, a moody collision of love and crime in the tradition of Bonnie and Clyde. Four years ago, impassioned young outlaw couple Bob Muldoon (Affleck) and Ruth Guthrie (Mara) were apprehended in the Texas hills during a shootout that left a local officer wounded by a bullet from Ruth's gun. Taking the blame, Bob was sentenced to 25 years in prison. After having engineered a daring escape, Bob is now determined to reconnect with the love of his life and meet the daughter who was born while he was incarcerated. But the journey back won't be easy, and the powers that be threaten to keep the two lovers apart forever. Co-starring Ben Foster (THE MESSENGER) and set against the gritty landscape of 1970s Texas Hill Country, AIN'T THEM BODIES SAINTS is a breathtaking and exquisitely photographed meditation on the fragility and transience of love.- Shop: odax

En Klunk Av Det Blå
The nominees of the prestigious Nordic Council Prize, The Daughters of the Wolf (Ulvens döttrar) continue their musical peregrinations through folk-tales from Åland Islands with their second release, 'Blue Draught', containing original folk compositions. The album is a follow-up to the highly successful 2004 release, 'Saga', also released on Blue Music Group. The three sisters have performed together since childhood with their exotic Nordic vocal sound self-accompanied by flutes, fiddle and drums. The trio received wide media acclaim as the finalists in the Tampere Vocal Music Festival in 2003. They have performed regularly in Scandinavia and Germany. Blue Draught takes the listener into a world of mystique, sisterhood, nature and love. This is the magic sound of three musicians, whose musical scenery resembles the sea, four distinct seasons and - indeed - quite a blue draught.- Shop: odax
