    "Ever since I squished out of the womb, my life has been filled with music. And my first guitar wound up being broken over my brothers legs by my mom. " Keith Beck, Zigman Bird And so began the Zigman Bird concept, fully emerging into the world in 2003 as a result of the ongoing collaboration between childhood friends, acclaimed Central New Jersey singer/songwriter Keith Beck (Chuttering Mums/Alexander Kariotis and the Rock Opera Orchestra) and his reclusive lyricist partner, Rick Mutz. "I started writing songs with a friend, Rick, from high school five days a week for at least three to four years," says Keith. "At first we sucked. Then we got better. And we're still at it after all these years!" Like the countless Garden State troubadors before them, Keith and Rick grew up with steady doses of the hippest rock n' roll radio playing on the radio dial and distilled those influences to create the classic mix of memorable hooks, melodies, and cutting guitars found on the band's new CD, Balls Marie. Balls Marie kicks off with two propulsive odes to obsession, the muscle-car powered Eyelids, and the first single off the album, Don't Wake Up, quickly followed by seven more explorations into the inherent differences between men and women of the 21st Century. Or something like that. "What do the lyrics mean? I don't write the lyrics to my songs, so in some ways I might not be as close to my songs as other artists," Keith confesses. "Hhhmmm...Go ask Rick. He's at 1-732-845..." The songs on Balls Marie have been fleshed out with the contributions of various seasoned musicians, each member complimenting the ZB concept by bringing their own intrinsic sound. Guitarist David Devine (The Number Theory/Spiraling) joined Keith from the band's outset while Damian Gonzalez (Como Drive/Burning Up White/Spiraling) and Geoff Alpaugh (Down With The Wizard/The Number Theory/Spiraling) came aboard more recently, replacing "Scrappy Fing" Lambert on bass and Bill Homeyer on drums, respectively. This current incarnation emanates raw, energetic rock and roll of the highest caliber while keeping in the tradition of the greats they admire like the Beatles, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Television, Iggy Pop, Marc Bolan, and many others. Zigman Bird's Balls Marie offers a unique new vision of their own, creating songs that capture the essence of the human condition and putting it to a beat. Or as Keith so aptly puts it, 'Good melodic rock that sticks in your f$*!ing head!' Zigman Bird are currently playing throughout the NY/NJ/PA area in support of Balls Marie on Lump'N'Loaf Records.

    Righteous Blood, Ruthless Blades is a roleplaying game of dark adventure and heroic thrills inspired primarily by the wuxia stories of Gu Long. Players assume the roles of eccentric heroes who solve mysteries, avenge misdeeds, uphold justice, and demonstrate profound mastery of the martial arts. Character creation is designed to produce fleshed-out, potent individuals who can follow several paths, including those of the physician, beggar, assassin, thief, soldier, bandit, and more. These characters inhabit a unique martial world, or Jianghu, set in a romanticized ancient China. The towns, temples, and inns the characters can visit, and the sects and factions with whom they interact, will bring their own character to the game and provide a host of opportunities - and threats. The game is based on a simple ten-sided dice pool mechanic, loosely modeled on the one found in Wandering Heroes of Ogre Gate, and play is designed to be gritty, suspenseful, and fast, so the focus remains on solving mysteries and roleplaying your character.
