I dream about my sister almost every night.Lilian Morrison has one memento of her beloved sister, Emma: a battered silver music box. Now Lilian is compelled to investigate Emma’s final days after the girls were shipped to separate foster families in Britain and the time before Emma was killed in the London Blitz. In London, as she searches for clues to retrace the past, Lilian finds that the anguish of war still reverberates after two decades. Lindbergh vs. Roosevelt: The Rivalry That Divided America , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 443min
Was aviation pioneer and popular American hero Charles A. Lindbergh a Nazi sympathizer and anti-Semite? Or was he the target of a vicious personal vendetta by President Roosevelt? In Lindbergh vs. Roosevelt, author James Duffy tackles these questions head-on by examining the conflicting personalities, aspirations, and actions of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Charles A. Lindbergh. Painting a politically incorrect portrait of both men, Duffy shows how the hostility between these two American giants divided the nation on both domestic and international affairs. From canceling U.S. airmail contracts to intervening in World War II, Lindbergh and Roosevelt’s clash of ideas and opinions shaped the nation’s policies here and abroad. Insightful and engaging, Lindbergh vs. Roosevelt reveals the untold story about two of history’s most controversial men and how the White House waged a smear campaign against Lindbergh that blighted his reputation forever. James Duffy is a lecturer and writer who specializes in military history. He has written 15 books, including Target: America: Hitler’s Plan to Attack the United States and Lincoln’s Admiral: The Civil War Campaigns of David Farragut. His books have received positive reviews from The Atlantic Monthly, The Washington Post, Publishers Weekly, and more. He lives in Bound Brook, New Jersey. ungekürzt. Language: English.

Killing the SS , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 444min
Confronting Nazi evil is the subject of the latest installment in the mega-best-selling Killing series. As the true horrors of the Third Reich began to be exposed immediately after World War II, the Nazi war criminals who committed genocide went on the run. A few were swiftly caught, including the notorious SS leader Heinrich Himmler. Others, however, evaded capture through a sophisticated Nazi organization designed to hide them. Among those war criminals were Josef Mengele, the “Angel of Death” who performed hideous medical experiments at Auschwitz; Martin Bormann, Hitler’s brutal personal secretary; Klaus Barbie, the cruel "Butcher of Lyon"; and perhaps the most awful Nazi of all: Adolf Eichmann. Killing the SS is the epic saga of the espionage and daring waged by self-styled "Nazi hunters". This determined and disparate group included a French husband and wife team, an American lawyer who served in the army on D-Day, a German prosecutor who had signed an oath to the Nazi Party, Israeli Mossad agents, and a death camp survivor. Over decades, these men and women scoured the world, tracking down the SS fugitives and bringing them to justice, which often meant death. Written in the fast-paced style of the Killing series, Killing the SS will educate and stun the listener. The final chapter is truly shocking. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Bill O'Reilly. Winston S. Churchill: The History of the Second World War, Volume 3 - The Grand Alliance, Hörbuch, Digital, 165min
The Blitz continued to rain down on the shell and morale of the nation’s defences. In the cold grey waters of the North Atlantic, wolfpacks of enemy U boats hunted down with ruthless efficiency the supply lines that could keep Britain in the war. Through the year, the enemy produced many of their grandest victories, but Britain was able to stabilise its position in the Middle East although setbacks at the hands of the newly arrived Rommel, the Desert Fox, were encountered in North Africa. But 1941 was to prove strategically decisive; with Hitler’s campaign in the Balkans, vital time was lost to the Wehrmacht for an attack on its former ally Russia. When the 150 divisions hurled themselves forward in June many knew that the long Russian winter would grind the enemy to a standstill before they could reach the safety of their objective cities. In December the third member of 'The Grand Alliance' stepped from the background with the infamous attack of Pearl Harbour. Now Churchill knew in his heart that ultimate victory surely lay with Britain, the United States, and Russia, but the continuing pain, sacrifice, and toll of blood and machine were still to be borne. The overview is read by Winston S Churchill, MP, and the volume narrated by Michael Jayston. Language: English. Narrator: Michael Jayston. World War 2 History: True Stories of the Wehrmacht War Crimes and Atrocities , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 80min
The true stories of the shocking Wehrmacht war crimes and atrocities.... The Second World War was, no doubt, one of the worst experiences mankind has ever faced. From torture to rape to murder, crimes against innocents were innumerable - Adolf Hitler, a diminutive man with the oratorical skills of a genius, took advantage of a sensitive situation in the aftermath of Germany’s defeat in the First World War and amassed enough power to bring the entire European continent to its knees. In the forefront of Hitler’s troops were the Wehrmacht, which had some of the most elite, most powerful, and most brutal soldiers in the world. What’s sad is that at the end of the Second World War, when the Nuremberg Trials took place and most of the WW2 criminals were tried and then punished, the Wehrmacht was declared as not a criminal organization. This was because of a legal technicality and loophole that left them as simply part of the German Armed Forces. Just because they were ruled as "not a criminal organization" doesn’t mean that they weren’t criminals - there are even some who would deny that these men were war criminals, but that lies on par with those who would deny the existence of the Holocaust itself, given that there is ample evidence to prove the evildoing of the Wehrmacht soldiers.... ungekürzt. Bombing Hitler: The Story of the Man Who Almost Assassinated the Führer , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 451min
A ticking time-bomb set to blow right under Hitler’s nos …will the plan work? Georg Elser was just an ordinary working-class citizen living in Munich, Germany. He was employed as a carpenter and had spent some time working in a watch factory. That all changed when he took it upon himself, without telling his family or friends, to single-handedly attempt to assassinate the most powerful man in all of Germany: the Führer, Adolph Hitler. Elser’s plan was centered on the Munich Beer Hall, where he knew Hitler would be making a speech. Working slowly and in secret, he started to assemble the bomb that he would use to try to kill Hitler. When finished, the bomb was hidden in a hollowed-out space near the speaker’s podium. The bomb went off successfully, killing eight people…but Hitler was not one of them. Bombing Hitler is an incredible tale that takes you back to 1939, and recreates the steps that led Elser from the Munich Beer Hall, to his attempted escape across the Swiss border, and sadly, to the concentration camp where his heroic life ended. Hear for the first time the epic and tragic story of a man who stood up for what he knew was right, opposed the most powerful man in Germany, and came close to single-handedly ending the war. ungekürzt.
