2017 Château d'Aiguilhe tbd

This should fill out nicely."
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (reviewed by Stephan Reinhardt): 98 Punkte »Stunningly clear and pure on the citric-perfumed nose, the sweet 2013 Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Auslese *** is characterized by its laser-like precision and elegance, which is perfectly paired with its vibrant acidity and piquant minerality that lingers and makes this Auslese a memorable one.«- Shop: Ludwig von Kapff

2017 Château Canon 1. Grand Cru Classé B Saint-Émilion A.C.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 94-96/100 Punkte "The deep purple-black colored 2017 Canon offers-up intense notes of crushed blackberries, black cherries and warm cassis with touches of fertile loam, yeast extract, beef drippings and iron ore plus a waft of garrigue. Medium to full-bodied with great freshness and firm, rounded tannins, it's very earthy in the mouth, finishing long and mineral-laced. A very serious wine, it is also fun, bright and vivacious and should age impressively." James Suckling: 95/100 Punkte "This is very focused and fresh with limestone and crushed-stone character. Medium to full body, integrated tannins and a salty finish. Shows lots of minerality already. Umami licorice undertones." Wine Spectator: 93-96/100 Punkte "A very pretty, slightly high-pitched version, featuring sleek cherry, cassis and damson plum fruit racing through, picking up light savory and mineral notes. The minerality blooms through the finish, with a floral gilding adding a sparkly effect on the long, unencumbered finish." Decanter: 94/100 Punkte "Another successful year for Canon; not as voluptuous as in 2016 or 2015, but it has a wonderful salinity and a crisp, fresh curl to the fruit. They aim for crystalline flavours, vibrant fruit and a sense of forward motion, and for me it has that again this year. The flavours of blueberries, blackberries and soft, smoky almonds are drawn out through the palate, and by the time it has finished you are ready to go again. It has an austerity that is overridden by the juice, not quite overriding the vintage, but it's a delicious wine that again showcases the beauty of limestone. 50% new oak. Thomas Duclot is consultant here, and it really is a great year for the estates that he works with. Drinking Window 2025 – 2040” Vinous (Neal Martin): 92-94/100 Punkte "The 2017 Canon was picked 4 to 21 September and 22 to 27 September for the Merlot and Cabernet Franc at 42hl/ha and matured in 56% new oak. There is 14.0° alcohol this year and the pH comes in at 3.66. This takes a little time to open, eventually revealing blackberry, briary, crushed stone and light iris scents. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins and good backbone. Strangely, it reminds me a little of modern-day Figeac, that Cabernet component smaller here but very expressive with touches of graphite and flint towards the linear but beguilingly fresh finish. I like the manner in which the limestone shines through the wine here, something noticeable in recent vintages. Whilst not the sensational 2015 or 2016, it is a damn fine Saint-Émilion that will settle at the top of my banded score. Trinkreife: 2022-2045" Wine Enthusiast: 93-95/100 Punkte "Barrel Sample. Rich and densely concentrated, this wine has a generous character. It is not hugely structured, but does have great black fruits and a warm, rounded character, so it will develop relatively quickly. Drink from 2022." Weinwisser: 18/20 Punkte "77 % Merlot, 23 % Cabernet Franc.

Der 2014er Jahrgang wurde vom Robert Parker Wine Advocate mit 98 Punkten bedacht: "The 2014 Les Manyes was bottled a little earlier, in June 2016. In many wineries in Priorat, 2013 is clearly better than 2014, but it's not that clear in the case here, and you have to take it wine by wine. In the case of this Les Manyes, I think 2014 was the big surprise, with a combination of depth, perfume, subtleness and power difficult to achieve. The clay and chalky soils provide for an extraordinary texture of tannins, a lot less coarse than those from slate soils. It distills all the Mediterranean herbs and flowers, the essence of ripe red cherries and wild strawberries with some chalky minerality in a nose and palate that is close to perfection. This is a tour de force Garnacha from... chalky soils in Priorat! There are 1,008 bottles produced."" (Luis Gutiérrez, Okt. 2016)"- Shop: vinos

2017 Château Bourgneuf tbd
Château Bourgneuf hat uns mit seinem 2017er Grand Vin schlicht und einfach ins Staunen versetzt! Super-Frucht, leichte Kaffee und Tabak Noten dazu eine feine Salzigkeit. Am Gaumen neben der Kirschfrucht eine schöne Mineralität zeigend. Dazu kräftige Tannine, die ihn eher maskulin wirken lassen! (92+ Punkte) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 91-93/100 Punkte "A final blend of 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 Bourgneuf is deep garnet-purple in color with a nose of red and black plums, cassis and black soil with hints of cigar box and wild thyme. Medium-bodied, fine-grained and refreshing in the mouth with beautiful fruit and earth layers, it finishes with a fragrant lift." James Suckling: 92/100 Punkte "A solid Pomerol for the vintage with dark chocolate, dark berries and round and ripe tannins. Medium to full body and a fresh finish." Wine Spectator: 91-94/100 Punkte "Juicy and friendly, delivering bright cassis and raspberry coulis flavors laced with savory and mineral notes. The fruit drives nicely through the finish, which is extended by fresh acidity." Decanter: 92/100 Punkte "From 9ha of gravel and clay soils, this is a meaty, rich and chewy Pomerol that absolutely works. It has great tannic structure with give and pliability, full of rich black fruits, cassis and raspberry notes, and pulled along by slatey minerality. It has real texture, even though yet again you can tell the fruit flirts with the fresher end of ripeness. Still, this has huge potential, should age well, and is extremely well-handled. 2018 Château Troplong Mondot 1. GRAND CRU CLASSÉ B SAINT-ÉMILION A.C.
James Suckling: 97-98/100 Punkte »The focus to this wine sets a new standard for Troplong Mondot with density and minerality that I have not encountered for decades. Lots of slate and white-pepper character. Tight and very dense. Full body. Balanced. Wild mineral character and freshness here. Precise.« Decanter: 97/100 Punkte »One of the stories of the 2018 vintage in Bordeaux was Troplong Mondot bringing in its first grapes on 7 September. Proof, many suggested, of director Aymeric de Gironde going too far in his quest to rewrite Troplong's powerful style. It certainly made me excited to try this wine, and I hope the sceptics were too, because this is a brilliant Troplong. Oh, and although around 80% of the grapes did come in during those first 10 days, the final harvest date was 10 October. There's clear depth just in the colour alone, and impressive complexity on the nose. There's still a whole lot of Troplong strength and concentration here, you can't get away from that with these clay and flint over limestone soils, but now it is softer, with more minerality. The relatively high alcohols are apparent in the texture but not as heat. I love the persistency here, as it drags things out in the most delicious of ways, with a slate and white pepper finish. Of the new vineyards bought (4ha from Clos Labarde and 6ha from Bellisle Mondotte), everything is in the second wine this year. The château will probably ask for some sections to be included in the grand vin in the next classification in 2022. 3.56pH. Thomas Duclos consults. Drinking Window 2027 - 2042« Wine Spectator: 95-98/100 Punkte »This offers a lovely display of boysenberry, cherry and plum fruit, yet stays refined and focused, relying on purity as this glides through. Has weight but feels silky, with a flinty mineral hint adding cut on the finish.« Wine Enthusiast: 95-97/100 Punkte »Barrel Sample. The tannins are beautifully integrated into this velvet-textured wine. It has density and richness allied to concentration. At the same time, it has kept wonderful freshness and acidity to give it fine lift. The aging potential is obvious.« Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 93-95+/100 Punkte »The 2018 Troplong Mondot is blended of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, with 14.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.56. Deep garnet-purple in color, it begins slowly with bold, bright black raspberries, ripe black plums, fresh blackberries and Morello cherries notes, giving way to underlying scents of tobacco, wild sage, Sichuan pepper, black olives, truffles and Marmite toast with hints of crushed stones and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers wonderfully fresh, energetic black fruit with a downright racy line of freshness (uncommon for this vintage) and firm, rounded tannins, finishing long with lots of mineral, earth and dried herbs layers giving beautiful electric sparks.« Weinwisser: 19/20 »85 % Merlot, 13 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 2 % Cabernet Franc, 14,5 % vol., 49 hl/ha.

Luis Gutiérrez vom Robert Parker Wine Advocate vergibt stolze 97 Punkte für diesen Wein: "I had already encountered the 2013 from both Tosses and Manyes, the top Cariñena and Garnacha respectively, and was really looking forward to tasting it with time, side by side and even next to the 2014s. This 2013 Les Manyes is stunning, perfumed and floral, with subtle aromas of Mediterranean herbs and flowers. The vineyard is located at 800 meters altitude on clay and limestone soils, a true rarity in Priorat, in the zone where Scala Dei has their Mas Deu vineyard, and it might be the secret why it produces such and elegant and fresh wine. Perfumed and intoxicating, this has a beautiful nose. The vinification is similar for all reds, a short, 10-day maceration with the full clusters followed by an élevage in large, neutral oak foudres, in this case for almost two years. It developed a nose of violets with time in the glass that complemented the fine tannins and the subtle minerality. The balance is gobsmacking. 1,000 bottles were filled in November 2015. This is a wine that from 2013 will also be fermented and aged in cement."" (Luis Gutiérrez, Okt. 2016) "- Shop: vinos

2017 Château Branaire-Ducru tbd
Finesse, Eleganz, Harmonie sind die drei Stichworte, die wir bei der Verkostung des Branaire Ducru aufgeschrieben haben. Schöne Frucht dunkler Beeren, etwas Kakao und Kräuter im feinen, mineralischen Abgang. Sehr gute Saint-Julien, der schon recht früh höchstes Trinkvergnügen verspricht. (92-93 Punkte) Wine Spectator: 90-93/100 Punkte "The plum and cherry paste flavors show good energy, with floral lift and sleek graphite accents adding to the sense of range and definition. Well done." James Suckling: 91/100 Punkte "This is very tight and focused with a precise depth of blackberry and blueberry fruit. Full body, melted tannins and a fresh and vivid finish. Shows a compacted style." Wine Enthusiast: 91-93/100 Punkte "Barrel Sample. Crisp fruit and intense acidity are the hallmarks of this bright wine. Its tannins are a backdrop to the nervy fruit character and vein of minerality and refreshing acidity. Drink from 2023." Vinous (Neal Martin): 91-93/100 Punkte "The 2017 Branaire Ducru was picked 13 September until 4 October over a three-week period, cropped at 39.6hl/ha. The alcohol here is 13.2°. The wine is aged in 60% new oak, which is how the sample was made. It has a harmonious bouquet with brambly black fruit, melted tar and tobacco scents, not powerful but precise. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture, fine tannin, just a subtle savory note developing and merging nicely with the black fruit, hints of white pepper and cedar towards the poised finish that is quintessential Saint-Julien. There is an essence of drinkability about this Branaire-Ducru and I can imagine this being approachable after three to four years. This is a very fine Branaire-Ducru.Trinkreife: 2021-2040 " Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 88-90/100 Punkte "The deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Branaire-Ducru gives up notes of baked black berries, red cherries and mulberries with touches of potpourri and smoked meats. Medium-bodied with a lively line lifting the good concentration of red and black fruits, it has a chewy frame and grippy finish." 2018 Château Montrose 2. GRAND CRU CLASSÉ SAINT ÉSTÈPHE A.C.
James Suckling: 98-99/100 Punkte »This is a big and muscular wine with great structure and depth of fruit. Blackberry and blueberry character. Hints of fresh leaves. Cool earth. Incredible depth, yet so polished. Concentrated.« Falstaff: 98/100 Punkte »Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Reife dunkle Beerenfrucht, feine Edelholzwürze, reife Pflaumen, feines Nougat, zart nach kandierten Orangenzesten. Saftig, elegant, mineralisch, extraktsüßer Kern, frisch strukturiert, finessenreich und gut anhaltend, reife Herzkirschen im Abgang, sicheres Entwicklungspotenzial.« Decanter: 97/100 Punkte »This is wonderfully rich, with the precision of 2016 but the seductive quality of 2009. It feels architectural in the way that truly great vintages do in the Médoc, and it seems to have consumed its alcohol rather effortlessly. There's plenty of liquorice and exuberant but well buttoned-down brushed damson and cassis pit notes that maintain the signature of Montrose. You can see the concentration in the legs and in the depth of the colour. 20% press wine was added, which is typical here, but the vintage yielded an extremely low 25hl/ha, due partly to drought, partly to mildew and partly to coulure - with drought accounting for most of that/ The Cabernets were affected more than the Merlots because of the later harvesting (which ran from 17 September to 5 October), which meant careful sorting was essential. A good 3.7pH has definitely helped it maintain its balance and sense of minerality, but for me the 2016 remains the one to beat. 2% Petit Verdot makes up the blend. Phenolic count of 81IPT. Drinking Window 2028 - 2042« Wine Enthusiast: 96-98/100 Punkte »Barrel Sample. This superb wine offers intense, spicy tannins and rich black fruits that yield an impressive, ageworthy bottling. Its black plum flavor and juicy acidity are enhanced by the firm tannins, with a touch of nutmeg on the finish.« Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 96-98/100 Punkte »Composed of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, harvested from September 17 to October 5, the 2018 Montrose has a very deep purple-black color and opens with tantalizing notes of crème de cassis, Black Forest cake, hoisin and mocha with nuances of molten licorice, fertile loam, cast iron pan and incense. Big, rich, full and powerful in the mouth, the voluptuous fruit has a rock-solid backbone of very firm, very ripe tannins to match with tons of freshness and an epically long, exotic spice finish. A magnificent monster of a Montrose!« Weinwisser: 19,5/20 »72 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 20 % Merlot, 6 % Cabernet Franc, 2 % Petit Verdot. Grand Cru Classé Pauillac A.C.
Weinwisser: 20/20 Punkte “… (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 40 hl/ha) Frisches, elegantes, feingliedriges, dichtes, komplexes Bouquet, Heidelbeeren, schwarzer Cassis, Korinthen, fein Lakritze, Minze, Pralinen. The 2016 Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is blended of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in 60% new oak. Deep purple-black in color, it is a little mute, slowly unfurling to reveal a core of crushed blackcurrants, blueberry compote and black raspberries with nuances of cinnamon stick, violets, star anise, menthol and pencil shavings plus a waft of fallen leaves. Medium-bodied and super intense in the mouth, the palate bursts with black fruits and savory layers, complemented by red fruit sparks and framed by fantastically ripe, fine-grained tannins, finishing very long with a lingering suggestion of minerality." Trinkgenuss: 2023 bis 2058 Decanter: 98/100 Punkte "Cabernet dominant, it's very Pauillac in style and totally lives up to its en primeur promise. The tannins deepen and tighten and here we are, smack-bang in the northern Médoc. This is youthful, rich, powerful and intense; very good quality. It gets better and better as you return to it, and I'm really impressed with the texture and depth of the silky-smooth palate: pure cassis notes alongside hawthorn, hedgerow and liquorice. Matured in 60% new oak." Trinkgenuss: 2026 bis 2045 James Suckling: 98/100 Punkte "Glorious aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and flowers, from violets to roses. Iron and rust undertones. Full-bodied, dense and very layered with loads of richness. It goes on for minutes. Reminds me of the 1986. Best in decades? Take a first look at it in 2025." Antonio Galloni vinous: 97-100/100 Punkte "A deeply emotional, moving wine, the 2016 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is simply extraordinary. The tannins are nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit, while the 100% new oak is remarkably well integrated at this stage. Dark, powerful and brooding, the 2016 possesses remarkable polish for such a big wine. The purity of the flavors is simply captivating. Scents of graphite, smoke, leather, tobacco and menthol soar from the glass, enhancing a core of deep, plush, dark fruit. All the elements fuse together in a wine of nearly unparalleled beauty. Although not inexpensive, Pichon-Lalande is arguably the single finest relative value in ageworthy wine in Bordeaux right now. Readers should do whatever they can to pick up the 2016. It is without question one of the wines of the vintage and potentially a legendary wine in the making. Tasted three wines." Wine Spectator: 97/100 Punkte "Saturated with dark currant, fig and blackberry compote flavors, this has a fleshy, nearly glycerin feel at first before stretching out to reveal singed cedar, tobacco leaf, dark earth and cassis bush flavors. A terrific tug of cast iron emerges at the very end. Deliciously juicy dark fruit keeps rolling throughout." Trinkgenuss: 2025 bis 2040 Wine Enthusiast: 96-98/100 Punkte "Dense tannins and dark fruits are just a part of this wine's complex character. It is ripe, full of blackberries, yet solid, with a structure that balances the fruit. It should age extremely well; be ready be prepared to hold this for 15 years or more."
