2011 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron Grand Cru Classé Pauillac A.C.
Robert Parker: 91 Punkte Its bigger, more famous sibling, the 2011 Pichon Longueville Baron exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, an opulent mouthfeel for a 2011, silky tannins and no hard edges. Medium-bodied and well-endowed, it is a major success in this vintage. It should hit its stride in 3-4 years and last for 15+. Wine Spectator: 92 Punkte Shows a taut feel for now, with lots of cassis and blackberry fruit, lined with iron and bramble notes. Dark and well-toasted yet integrated overall, this should stretch out after moderate cellaring, as there's an ample core of dark, fleshy fruit. Trinkreife: von 2016 bis 2028 Decanter: 17,5 Punkte Ripe Cabernet cassis fruit, very good structure and length, firm Pauillac elegance. Trinkreife: von 2017 bis 2030- Shop: Ludwig von Kapff

2011 Château Pontet Canet 5. CRU CLASSÉ PAUILLAC
Saftiger, eleganter Gaumen, samtig weiche, aber doch präsente Tannine, royaler Körper mit traumhafter Länge. Eindeutig einer der besten Pauillac dieses Jahrgangs - Bio at it´s best! Robert Parker: 93+ Punkte Proprietor Alfred Tesseron-s 2011 Pontet-Canet is packaged in an engraved, heavy bottle, which only adds to the attractiveness of this beauty. A dense purple color is accompanied by notes of forest floor, acacia flowers and creme de cassis in this full, rich, and unequivocally classic Pauillac. With soft but noticeable tannins as well as a complete, full-bodied mouthfeel, this 2011 will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring, and should age effortlessly for 15-20 years. Bravo! Wine Spectator: 92 Punkte This cuts a broad swath, with prominent notes of espresso and ganache leading to the core of crushed plum and blackberry confiture. Lush, with the ganache edge joining a loamy hint to underscore the finish. Consistent with the barrel tasting, this shows more breadth than cut in the end. Trinkreife: von 2016 bis 2026 Decanter: 18 Punkte Wild violets and black fruit nose, both exuberant and classic. It is a wonderfully elegant Pauillac with superb vineyard expression. 2011 Château Pontet Canet 5éme Cru Classé Pauillac AOC - in der 6er Holzkiste
Saftiger, eleganter Gaumen, samtig weiche, aber doch präsente Tannine, royaler Körper mit traumhafter Länge. Eindeutig einer der besten Pauillac dieses Jahrgangs - Bio at it´s best! James Suckling: 95 Punkte "A wine with lots of ripe berries, verging on dried fruits. Full and chewy with ripe, round, chewy tannins. It needs lots of bottle age. A wine of steel. From biodynamically grown grapes, as always. Better than from barrel. Try in 2018." Robert Parker: 93+ Punkte "Proprietor Alfred Tesseron-s 2011 Pontet-Canet is packaged in an engraved, heavy bottle, which only adds to the attractiveness of this beauty. 2018 Château Poujeaux MOULIS EN MÉDOC A.C.
Decanter: 93/100 Punkte »Poujeaux is a wine that I often hold up as classic example of what the Médoc can achieve, and here again it's a huge success. It has a beautiful nose, with vibrant and well extracted brambly dark fruits on the palate - but not so much that it feels like it's pushing too hard. It's an architectural wine, a more classic take on the vintage, but for me this is where the money is in Moulis. It takes its time to unravel, and the heat of the summer comes through in its rich, ripe mouthfeel. The tannins close in on the finish, which has a menthol and eucalyptus edge that suggests a long life ahead. Drinking Window 2024 - 2036« Falstaff: 93/100 Punkte »Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Reifes dunkles Beerenkonfit, schwarze Herzkirschen, etwas Nougat und Orangenzesten, attraktives, floral unterlegtes Bukett. Kraftvoll, saftig, schwarze Frucht, Brombeerkonfit, feste Tannine, schokoladiger Nachhall, lagerfähiger Stil, Potenzial, vielseitig einsetzbar.« James Suckling: 92-93/100 Punkte »Solid core of fruit and polished tannins give this a tight and composed palate. Fresh and bright.« Wine Spectator: 89-92/100 Punkte »Flavors of plum and cherry preserves are melded nicely with cocoa and tobacco notes.

Wine Advocate (Robert M. Parker): 100/100 Punkte »A candidate for the wine of the vintage, the 2009 La Mission-Haut-Brion stood out as one of the most exceptional young wines I had ever tasted from barrel, and its greatness has been confirmed in the bottle. A remarkable effort from the Dillon family, this is another large-scaled La Mission that tips the scales at 15% alcohol. A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (47% of each) and the rest Cabernet Franc, it exhibits an opaque purple color as well as a magnificent bouquet of truffles, scorched earth, blackberry and blueberry liqueur, subtle smoke and spring flowers. The wine's remarkable concentration offers up an unctuous/viscous texture, a skyscraper-like mouthfeel, sweet, sumptuous, nearly over-the-top flavors and massive density. Perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime La Mission-Haut-Brion, the 2009 will take its place alongside the many great wines made here since the early 1920s. The good news is that there are nearly 6,000 cases of the 2009. It should last for 50-75+ years. Given the wine's unctuosity and sweetness of the tannin, I would have no problem drinking it in about 5-6 years.« Trinkgenuss: 2020 bis 2060 Weinwisser (Rene Gabriel): 19/20 Punkte »47 % Merlot, 47 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 6 % Cabernet Franc. Ein grosser, machtvoller, klassischer Mission mit Potenzial für locker 40 Jahre.« Trinkgenuss: 2018 bis 2050 James Suckling: 98 Punkte »This is already closing with blueberry, mineral, fresh herbs, and licorice. Full-bodied, with ultra fine tannins yet muscular and racy. This is already very firm and tight. Yet muscular like a world-class ballerina. Muscular. Try after 2018.« Wine Spectator: 96/100 Punkten »This is forcefully rendered, with dark tar, espresso and chocolate up front, backed by dense layers of fig sauce, currant reduction and smoldering black tea leaves. There's dense flesh and great drive on the finish, which has serious grip.« Trinkgenuss: 2016 bis 2035- Shop: Ludwig von Kapff

2017 Château Léoville-Poyferré In 6er Holzkiste
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 93-95/100 Punkte "Yields in 2017 were 44.34 hectoliters per hectare. The 2017 Léoville Poyferré is very deep purple-black in color with super intense notes of freshly crushed blackcurrants, wild blueberries and Sichuan pepper with hints of lavender, baking spices and wood smoke. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and grainy with restrained, understated fruit and a long, mineral-laced finish." Vinous (Neal Martin): 91-93/100 Punkte "The 2017 Léoville Poyferré was cropped at around 50hl/ha between 20 September and 6 October at 44hl/ha. It has a gorgeous bouquet that is very pure with scents of black cherry, cassis, cedar and a touch of graphite, all very focused and neatly entwined with the 85% new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, crisp and focused, very harmonious with a touch of cedar and black pepper towards the finish. I appreciate the combination of weight and finesse here, a really quite enthralling valedictory Léoville Poyferré who is due to retire this coming July. Bon vin“ Wine Spectator: 92-95/100 Punkte "Warm, displaying a slightly rounded feel for the vintage, this sports plum, cassis and blackberry compote flavors. A mouthwatering anise edge shows on the polished finish, with a well-buried graphite spine." James Suckling: 94/100 Punkte "Very tight and energetic finish to this young, new red with currant and blackberry character. Hints of crushed stones. Dense and four-square with a chewy tannin structure and a long finish. Very muscular. Serious encore to the 2016. Same level?" Weinwisser: 18/20 Punkte "68 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 27 % Merlot, 3 % Cabernet Franc, 2 % Petit Verdot. This has lower alcohol than usual, but doesn't sacrifice the mouthfeel. There's a succulent damson and cappuccino expression through the finish here, along with tautly constructed, bouncy tannins that are both expressive and powerful. It's one of the more rich and round wines in St-Juliens, as fits the house style. Extremely accomplished, it's powerful and will clearly age well. It's somewhere between 2014 and 2015 in quality, but not touching the majestic 2016. A success in the vintage, underlining again that St-Julien has had an extremely lucky 2017. 2018 Château Léoville-Poyferré 2. GRAND CRU CLASSÉ SAINT-JULIEN A.C.
James Suckling: 97-98/100 Punkte »This is so powerful and dense with amazing tannin quality that reminds me of dense clouds, because they are agile and light. Multilayered. Extremely long, too. Punchy! One of the best wines I have ever had from here.« Decanter: 97/100 Punkte »Deep, silky, and satiny in texture, you can practically stroke this in the glass! The round mouthfeel tells of ripe fruit and generous alcohol but there's not a trace of heat, and the balance is gorgeous. Tannins match you step for step, stopping for breath in all the right places. They keep the luscious black cherry, liquorice and dark chocolate all in place. The 2016 vintage was almost one degree less in alcohol, and certainly this is a little less architectural in its construction, but that extra percent has clearly gone a long way to covering the tannins in silk. 3.7pH. IPT90. Tasted several times. Drinking Window 2028 - 2042« Wine Spectator: 95-98/100 Punkte »This is brimming with plum, blackberry and blueberry reduction flavors, backed by grippy, energetic bramble, licorice and apple wood notes. Chockablock with stuff but defined and balanced. A no-brainer for the cellar.« Falstaff: 95/100 Punkte »Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Saftig, gute Komplexität und Frische, feine, gut integrierte Tannine, zitronig unterlegte Herzkirschen, finessenreich und elegant, rotbeeriger Touch, gutes Reifepotenzial.« Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 94-96+/100 Punkte »Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Léoville Poyferré begins sporting a veil of cedar, opening out to reveal profound notions of crème de cassis, warm kirsch, Black Forest cake and Indian spices plus hints of chargrilled meats and Sichuan pepper. Full-bodied and built like a brick house, the taut, muscular black fruit has a solid frame of firm, ripe tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long with loads of savory nuances. Aging is anticipated to be for 18 months in barriques, 80% new. The current blend is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.« Wine Enthusiast: 94-96/100 Punkte »Barrel Sample. Velvet tannins support beautifully ripe black fruits, giving a wine that is structured yet also generous in nature.
