A dense purple color is accompanied by notes of forest floor, acacia flowers and creme de cassis in this full, rich, and unequivocally classic Pauillac. With soft but noticeable tannins as well as a complete, full-bodied mouthfeel, this 2011 will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring, and should age effortlessly for 15-20 years. Bravo! Wine Spectator: 92 Punkte This cuts a broad swath, with prominent notes of espresso and ganache leading to the core of crushed plum and blackberry confiture. Lush, with the ganache edge joining a loamy hint to underscore the finish. Consistent with the barrel tasting, this shows more breadth than cut in the end. Trinkreife: von 2016 bis 2026 Decanter: 18 Punkte Wild violets and black fruit nose, both exuberant and classic. It is a wonderfully elegant Pauillac with superb vineyard expression.     In unseren Augen wird Graf von Neipperg mit seinem 14er Canon La Gaffeliere aller Voraussicht nach die Championsleague um Figeac, Troplong-Mondot, Angelus, Cheval Blanc & co. gewinnen. Der Wein ist einfach eine Wucht! Die fantastische Frucht (von schwarzen Johannisbeeren, Brombeeren und Blaubeeren) harmoniert absolut perfekt mit einer so animierenden Mineralität und Säure. Kein Wein für die kommenden 5 Jahre, dafür im Alter ganz sicher ein großes Erlebnis! (93-94+ Punkte) Wine Spectator: 95 Punkte "This cuts a wide swath, with mouthwatering tobacco and warm ganache notes leading the way, followed by a wave of fig, blackberry and black currant preserves. Shows remarkable definition already, even though the structure is strident. Tempting now, but just put this in the back of the cellar. Best from 2020 through 2035—J.M." Hier scheinen die grossartigen Cabernets die Wende zu bewirken. Der Nachklang ist legendär.
