Trotz der nur begrenzten räumlichen Möglichkeiten setzt Fischer die erforderliche Doppelchörigkeit hervorragend um. Wo Bach die beiden Chöre einander gegenüberstehend auf den Emporen der Leipziger Thomaskirche sah, kann die im Amsterdamer Concergebouw vorgegebene Aufteilung des Podiums zumindest zur visuellen Trennung der beiden Ensembles genutzt und durch einen kreativen Umgang mit der Kamera verstärkt werden.
