Little Bit of Magik
Robin Lee Evans is a guitarist/songwriter/vocalist that has written, recorded, played and toured in the music business for many years. A veteran of touring bands Robin has played and toured from Boston to LA and alot of places inbetween. Robin writes the material and plays almost all the instruments on his recordings. For many years Robin toured and recorded with a band called Magik. That band played many concerts and venues all over the country for over a decade. Some of these tracks contain some of the members from that band - a little bit iof Magik. I am a graduate of Berklee College of music and I am now spending time on writing and recording. It has always been my dream to enlighten people thru my music. Whenever we played live - the crowd always enjoyed the music - and hopefully made their lives better and happier! I am a young black entrepreneur with ambition, goals and discipline. My motivation is my son Antwoyn Terrell Spencer jr. and my daughter Jordan Sharee Spencer who i truly love, they are the reason i live by the code No More Mistakes! I was raised on principle and i will continue to live my life this way. When you make a way for yourself at an early age you began to think you know everything. Blinded by the fortune and fame i forgot about the small things in life like telling a friend or family member you love them. This has been restored in me with the Street Kingz movement so i really appreciate this group of brothers. I am a simple young man that sits at home and watch movies on the daily that's if there is absolutely no work to be done. I still play basketball when i get a chance but i workout daily. Although no one is perfect i try to limit my flaws because they are signs of weakness. I feel a woman can show weakness but a man shouldn't. With this in mind i will travel through the rest of my life trying to make myself a complete man. My life has been a dark tunnel but there is light on the other end. My life has been nothing but pressure and to me pressure determines how far a man will get in life and so far i have not bust and i will not do to the fact that i am responsible for a lot of people and will not let them down. I will give my life for the people around me to survive and trust me there's a thousand people that feels the same way about me. You might see my upscale life and think everything is ok, but I'll trade it all for happiness. I know alot but have alot to learn, i will no longer judge a person cause people can change and some learn quicker than others. I have a problem with fake people that really lack confidence and gets mad at a person with my confidence and mistake it for aurogance. My cockiness is a tool of confidence that i use to push myself to the limit. Confidence is the key to success, because it means you believe and that's the only way you will make it in this dirty world. Do what you gotta do to survive cause everybody has skeletons in the closet, even the people you see on TV. TV is a job and money can cover up things on the outside but not on the inside. Make a way for yourself in life and you will always have respect, ask but never beg, depend on you and if someone helps then they do. Get your own, that way you don't have to put up with BS. Broadway Nights
In a world where multi-talented artists along with new and exciting music seems like more of a past time than it does a reality, Dave Allen has catapulted onto the music scene with a sound that seems almost impossible to match. He steers clear of the conventional hip-hop sound by adding a rock and dance edge to his music, but still manages to keep it within pop boundaries. His music can have the effect of making people want to dance, as well as have them understand and appreciate the adverse lyrics on some of the more serious songs. His high energy live performance and crowd enticing music is just a fraction of what Dave Allen brings to the music industry. In late 2004, Dave released his self-produced debut album entitled 'Never Look Back', as well as wrote all the lyrics, and overlooked the whole process of recording the album. Many events in his life have been the motivation for his musical creation such as the death of his brother in 2001, the near death of him brought upon by a house fire in 2002, as well as another near death experience when involved in a motorcycle accident in the summer of 2005. Although faced with much adversity, Dave has fought through it all and has turned all the negatives into positives in order to fuel his ambition and create unparralled music. Aside from years of playing the piano, drums, and writing songs for other artists in different genres, Dave is also a model and actor as well. His modeling career started when he was contacted by a major modeling agency in NYC, who came across his music website and thought he would have great success in the print and fashion industry. His acting career came about shortly after and he began gaining small roles on the ABC daytime soap opera 'All My Children'. While his first release Never Look Back was certainly a great album, Dave assures listeners that it was a growing album and gave him alot of experience and thorough knowledge of the industry and what exactly it is that they are looking for. Fast forward 3 years and Dave has recently finished his new album 'Broadway Nights'. As the originater of Hip-Rock (Catchy hip-hop with a rock edge), Dave describes my music as highly accessible and popular. But, above all else, it is talented. 'I feel I have what it takes to create a mix of many different genres to create a 'new' and exciting sound. When people find out that I produce all of my own music, they are extremely surprised...I guess that alone separates me from most of the cliche hip-hop/pop artists today. My music is very modern and hard not to like'. I hope you enjoy 'Where Has The Love Gone.' I also hope someday we all realize we have the power to make everything alright for everyone except for things like God and nature's plan shaking things up here and there. Even then, it's great to see how we come together to help those in need. It's all a matter of choice, heart and effort. The music I'm driven to write often comes from my life expereinces and my desire to make a difference in this world by sharing the truth and emotion of my experiences and how it has touched my soul. Sometimes the truth is about joy and love, sometimes it's about pain, fear and sorrow, but it's always about life and making the best of it! If my life expereince and expression can somehow touch you, inspire you, comfort you, enlighten you, or even shock you in a way that would cause positive change, then I have lived a good and purposeful life & I'll be oh so grateful! , ) 'Where Has The Love Gone' reflects a combination of experiences in my life that made an impact and now I choose to share those lessons and learnings and feelings as my artistic expression. These songs are meant to inspire hope, love, patience, tolerance, truth, caring, change, playfullness and simple fun. 'Where Has The Love Gone' has been in the works for a very long time. A dream in the making while living a busy life of work, school, play, family, etc., ect. And one I'm finally satisifed with to publish. I have had alot of great input and assistance from various talented musicans, artists and a guest writer, Bert Savell who contributed some of his works to this CD and T-Bone Walker's Stormy Monday Blues.
