Er steht ganz oben auf der Liste der Verdächtigen, bis auch dieser einem Mord zum Opfer fällt. Warum mussten die zwei Brüder sterben, die ihr Leben der "Jagd nach dem "Schnark" gewidmet hatten? DVD 2 - Gefangen im Netz (Generation Of Vipers) Die Literaturprofessorin Miranda Thornton wird tot in ihrem Stadthaus in Oxford aufgefunden. Auf den ersten Blick spricht Vieles für Selbstmord. Inspektor Lewis ist jedoch davon überzeugt, dass das Opfer nicht freiwillig aus dem Leben geschieden ist. Als eine zweite Person einem brutalen Mord zum Opfer fällt, wird klar dass Mirandas Tod ein eiskalt geplanter Mord war. Was für ein Motiv liegt dem Mord zu Grunde? In einem Netz aus ehemaligen Lieb- und Freundschaften, Internetaktivitäten, millionenschweren Finanzdeals, Abhängigkeiten und Erpressungen den Überblick zu behalten, ist für Lewis und Hathaway die große Herausforderung. DVD 3 - Heimliche Spiele (Fearful Symmetry) Jessica Lake vertritt kurzfristig ihre Freundin bei einem Babysitting-Job im Haus des jungen Oxforder Geschäftsmannes Nick Addams und seiner Frau Honey. Als das Ehepaar zurückkehrt, finden sie das 18-Jährige Mädchen erdrosselt und im Bondage-Stil kunstvoll ans Bett gefesselt. Eine zweite Leiche wird am Ufer eines Flusses gefunden, durchbohrt von einem Pfeil. Handelt es sich um Ritualmorde oder vielleicht doch um Eifersucht? Am Ende ist ein unscheinbares Stofftier die entscheidende Spur zum Mörder. Hoffentlich noch rechtzeitig… DVD 4 - Der unauslöschliche Makel (The Indelible Stain) Am angesehenen Oxforder Institut für Kriminologie hält der Gastredner Professor Paul Yelland einen ebenso viel beachteten wie umstrittenen Vortrag zum Thema "Kriminelle Gefährlichkeit". Seine mutmaßlich rassistischen Thesen stoßen auf heftigen Widerspruch. Noch in der gleichen Nacht wird der Professor von einem Unbekannten erdrosselt. Handelt es sich bei diesem Mord um eine politisch motivierte Tat oder ist das Motiv von persönlicher Natur? Zudem wird eine zweite Leiche gefunden, die auf den ersten Blick nichts mit dem Tod von Professor Yellands zu tun zu haben scheint. Durch die Ermittlungen wird schließlich eine Geschichte ans Licht gebracht, die ihren Anfang schon vor vielen Jahren genommen hat.
