Hakan Hakan never apologizes for being a lethal, barely civilized Hunter, but he understands that he has to be careful when it comes to his future mate, Payton. The pretty young Geek captured his heart long ago, but he was forced to keep her at a distance until she was mature enough to handle his feral nature. When he discovers she's been captured, however, he's done waiting. It's time to claim his female. Unfortunately, he didn't anticipate that Payton might refuse the mating. Payton understands that there's nothing more important than discovering why their newest enemies are targeting the Pantera. And if that means putting herself in danger, then that's exactly what she's going to do, no matter what the arrogant Hakan might say. Of course, that's easier said than done. Especially when Hakan is clearly determined to seduce her. Does she listen to her pride, or give in to the urgings of her fragile heart? Séverin Humans have always been the enemy. Do any of the following quotes sound like you?“Why do concerns I bring up never seem to be resolved? Why do I feel like Charlie Brown, flat on his back from having the football snatched away? Why, when I bring up a concern, do I always end up justifying my existence or being the one to apologize? How do things seem to get turned around on me?”“I feel like I walk on eggshells, and I’m scared of his reactions to grievances I express, so I keep them to myself.” “I knew something was off for years but didn’t know what it was exactly. I knew that we were different - I would hear of other husbands supporting their wives in pursuing their dreams and be absolutely blown away. I would hear of husbands encouraging their wives to go out with friends and not be able to relate at all. I would hear of decisions being made mutually and not understand how that even looked.” “I remember as a young wife thinking, ‘Is this normal? Does everyone feel this way? Maybe this is why old wives seem bitter?’ It wasn’t until year seven that I finally acknowledged something was wrong, and there wasn’t anything I could change to make it better. It was years 15 to 24 that I became unsure of reality and questioned my sanity.”“He always apologizes after looking at porn or after blowing up at me or the kids. But nothing ever changes. And he gets mad if we don’t ‘forgive and forget.’”“He was a mechanic by trade, yet I was afraid to tell him whenever the car was acting up or making a noise. He would tell me he didn’t want me putting miles on my car, so I would tell friends ‘no’ anytime they wanted me to come see them. I acted like a little kid afraid to ask permission to do stuff.”“Nobody yells ‘Emergency! Call 911!’ or ‘Divorce!’ with all those tiny little ‘Hmmmm, that’s-a-bit-off?’ moments or maybe the ‘Ouch! He hurt me!’ scenes or the ‘What the heck was THAT all about?’ confusing moments that pile up over a period of years. All those tiny little p ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Natalie Hoffman. This anthology features six plays by celebrated Chicago playwright Mickle Maher, who has been described by the Houston Chronicle as "one of the most original voices in American theater today," and by the Chicago Reader as "a master at creating complex, paradoxical works that encompass their own contradictions." Maher's plays engage classic literature as a jumping off point for seriously unusual comedic dramas, often dealing with the absurdity, difficulties, and rewards of artistic endeavor. His work has been influenced by or compared to Eugène Ionesco, Maria Irene Fornes, Kenneth Koch, and Edward Albee, among others. This edition is designed to be useful for schools and other organizations that wish to mount productions of Maher's plays, which generally feature small casts and simple scenery and stagings, and thus can be easy to produce. The anthology includes: An Apology for the Course and Outcome of Certain Events Delivered by Doctor John Faustus on This His Final Evening On the night Faustus concludes his bargain with Mephistopheles, he apologizes to a group of random people for his failure to keep a diary of his fabulous life. The Hunchback Variations Ludwig von Beethoven and Quasimodo present a panel discussion on their failure to create an impossible sound called for in a stage direction in Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard. Song About Himself In a dystopian future, a woman made extraordinary by her ability to speak relatively clearly tries to connect with others on a mysterious social media site created by a rogue artificial intelligence. There Is a Happiness That Morning Is Having engaged the evening before in a highly inappropriate display of public affection on the main lawn of their rural New England campus, two lecturers on the poems of William Blake must now, in class, either apologize for their behavior or effectively justify it to keep their jobs. It Is Magic Deb and Sandy are auditioning Tim for the role of the Wolf in a production of The Three Little Pigs, but there's a mysterious haze in the basement of the Mortier Civic Playhouse and that, in addition to interruptions from the director of the Scottish play that's going on upstairs, is making things difficult. Then, Liz shows up and throws the whole room into (further) chaos. It Is Magic reveals the deep, ancient evil at the heart of the community theater audition process. Spirits to Enforce Twelve telefundraisers with secret identities work to raise money for a superheroic production of The Tempest in a bid to save Fathomtown from Professor Cannibal and his band of evil doers.

The Melodiya Chamber Ensemble has been in existence for nearly 20 years. It's three main participants were soloists of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Violinist Adolf Bruk was the concertmaster of the Bolshoi Theater as well as the director of the Bolshoi Chamber Orchestra for 15 years, performing in some of the best concert halls in the former Soviet Union. The orchestra has many recordings, among which are those with renowned singers of the sixties and seventies including Eugene Nesterenko, Elena Obraztsova, and Irina Arkhipova. Harpist Olga Ortenberg-Rakitchenkov, the niece of Adolf Bruk was the principal of the Bolshoi Orchestra. In 1974 she won first place in the International Harp Competition in Geneva Switzerland. She has toured with European and Russian orchestras, performed solo recitals, and made recordings for both radio and television. Her husband, violist Sergey Rakitchenkov, was the winner of the Soviet Union-wide viola competition in 1980 and worked as principal of the viola section in the Bolshoi Theater. In December 1979, Adolf emigrated from the Soviet Union with his wife Inga and their two children. They ended up settling in the San Francisco Bay Area where Adolf became the associate concertmaster of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. After being denied permission for many years, Olga, Sergey and their daughter Liza were finally allowed to immigrate in 1987. Nearly 8 years had passed, but their families were reunited at long last. In 1988 Sergey obtained a permanent position in the viola section of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, and in 1989 Olga too joined the orchestra. They continue to work there today, Sergey as Associate Principal and Olga as Principal. The idea to form Melodiya Chamber Group was a natural outcome of the longed-for family reunion. In concert, the group has performed pieces written for ensembles, one or two instruments. An expansive and varied collection of music, spanning styles and centuries, has been the result of this collaboration. Some of the works they've played are by Tomaso Vitali, Arcongello Corelli, Rameau, Marin Marais, Purcell, Telemann, J.S. Bach, J.C. Bach, W.F. Bach, C.P. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Franz Joseph Hayden, Rossini, Alessandro Rolla, Hummel, Brahms, Spohr, Schubert, Schumann, Max Bruch, Mikhail Glinka, Glazunov, Debussy, Ravel, Max Reger, Ernst Toch, Carlos Salzedo, Hindemith, Bartok, Frank Bridge, Prokofiev, Alexander Baltin, and Piazzola to name a few. The contemporary composer Dmitry Smirnov, who currently resides in England, also wrote and dedicated several compositions to the ensemble. This CD includes studio recordings as well as live performances and is the result of numerous requests of Melodiya patrons and fans. Melodiya Group apologizes for the ambient noise audible in several of the recordings, but feels that it is important to preserve the feeling of a live music atmosphere.
