The thoughts and dreams of an 8-year-old mind are strong enough to last a lifetime. Vincent Poag was born and raised in a blue-collar section of Massapequa, Long Island. Born in the 50's, he was exposed to, and a product of, the Broadway musical era, the music of Gershwin, Porter and Rogers and Hammerstein. As a teen, Poag saw singers like Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley give way to a unique new breed of musician - the singer/songwriter. Influenced by the explosive cultural shift of the 60's, led by such icons as Bob Dylan and the Beatles, Vincent Poag began his musical journey. Poag worked in the family's hardware store from the age of eight and shortly thereafter received his first guitar. He immediately started playing and writing his own music and by the time he entered college he had formed a 3 piece acoustic trio. Poag with his trio moved to Georgia after college to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter in Atlanta's burgeoning underground club scene. When that didn't work out, broke, Vincent returned to New York to drive a bus, play bars and peddle his songs to publishers and record labels. Unfortunately the pressures of making a living forced him to channel his creativity and drive into business ventures, eventually building a successful non-music business. He later married and had a family but the songwriter in him never died. From time to time he would write a lyric or a song on a subject that resonated with him, only to be tucked away in a desk drawer. Fast forward to 2008... on a lark as a birthday gift his wife bought him a series of guitar lessons. Now Poag, more settled in his career and family, could revisit his first love and explore his musical potential. The dream that so long ago was put on hold, and the songs that had been tucked away in a drawer were revitalized. Somewhere between hope and possibility in a voice somewhere between Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, and Randy Newman, Vincent Poag was reborn. The dreams that were put on hold have become material that demands to be heard. Poag's musical strength lies in his ability to tell a story or describe a feeling that compels you to listen to his lyrics but it's his melody that transports you and draws you in. Poag moves easily from reggae to blues, jazz to rock. He never repeats and always surprises. "This Christmas" was Vincent Poag's first single off his new CD Circling Back -- a perfect amalgam of his incredible range with a simple message of hope and friendship. Peaking at #34 on the FMQB ACQB Chart, this is a holiday song that is both timely and timeless.

'Road on the Left' is a departure from Adrian's prior acoustically-focused solo work. The album features Jean Finstad on upright bass, Mark Williams on lead guitar, Tommy Lepson on organ, Jon Ozment on piano, and Mike Smirnoff on percussion. Self Produced at Kensington, MD's Blue House studios, the EP is a culmination of years of hard work in part of Adrian and his backing musicians. Adrian writes deeply personal songs, striking vignettes of love, heartbreak, and alcohol-fueled indiscretions and recriminations. His lyrically and emotionally dense compositions draw comparisons to fellow Midwesterner Craig Finn of The Hold Steady. The title track of the EP is a tequila-fueled rocker meditating on failed relationships, while "Catch Up" is a sweet piano-driven ballad in the vein of Randy Newman that reflects on the nature of faith and love. 'Known for his innovative guitar playing, the DC-based singer songwriter plays his catchy, clever pop tunes.' ~Washington Post's Going Out Guide 'His songs and vocal stylings instantly reminded me of a young Daniel Johnston covering Vic Chestnutt compositions.' ~MetroMusicScene.com 'The Differents bring the noise with guitarist Andy Prezkop (furious with the licks and the wah peddle). Their singer reminds us of Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock' ~DCist.com.

Seattle's Jackrabbit's debut E.P. is soon to be released on May 18th 2011. Coincidentally, this is also the anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens and singer/songwriter Tony Fulgham's arrival to Seattle from Houston. Inspired by a topless mountain and a wealth of open green space, Tony's songwriting started shortly thereafter and has been going strong ever since. Tony's most notable musical achievement to date was four years and two records made with his band North Twin. Falling Apart and Stronger at the Broken Places both received great reviews and regular rotation on KEXP, as well as college stations around the nation (including The Outlaw Country Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio). A true band, North Twin decided to call it quits when drummer Rick Cranford answered the call of the east and returned to the land of his people in Boston. The year that followed was a persistent search for the chemistry so elusive in starting a new band. During this search, Tony tried a dozen different combos ranging from 4 to 7 members. Good musicians all, but none worked until Tony met drummer Aimee Zoe Tubbs at a show with one of her other bands, The Starlings. It was an instant musical crush that was shared by North Twin/Jackrabbit bassist Rebecca Young. What was at one point a seven-piece train wreck turned into three-piece bliss. The three of them stripped down all of Tony's songs and began building them back up in the simplest of ways. Recorded over a rainy weekend on Vashon Island at Jason Staczek's home studio followed by a couple nights with legendary Seattle producer, Johnny Sangster. No frills, nothing fancy but guest appearances where a little icing was needed on the cake. Tony's sister, Shannon joins for some backing vocals on "Falling is Mine" and "Stronger Than You" while Bloodshot recording artist, Maggie Bjorklund plays peddle steel on the same two tracks. Jason Staczek and his grand piano on "Stronger Than You" while Johnny Sangster fills out "Falling Is Mine" with the addition of his electric guitar. Influenced by Waylon Jennings, Calexico, Tom Waits and Elvis Costello, Tony's song writing seems to be endless and a feature length record is soon to follow. With a batch of sad songs about good times, Jackrabbit seems to be at the beginning of a friendship that will one day be worth a story all it's own. No telling how long Jackrabbit will stay a three piece but for right now a bottle of wine and a game of dice splits three ways pretty nicely.

Green Peace!Stimmen:"I've been listening ... I like Zervas &amp, Pepper, great songs, fine Singing ... I think you guys are excellent!" - David Crosby"Zervas &amp, Pepper have exquisite sounds to peddle" - MOJO"Abstract Heart is expertly done with open tuning and elliptical lyrics" - Uncut
