What can happen when two redheads meet and fall for each other? Miller Hollenbeck - She’s in a job which she hates. In her spare time, she loves to upcycle furniture.Miller Hollenbeck dropped the screw she was about to tighten with her electric drill and it slipped to the floor. The door dropped away from her hand and fell over onto her shoulder. She swore loudly and expressively and pushed the door to one side as she retrieved the escapee screw. Hanging doors was something she had learned how to do but it was never easy. Dressed in her favorite attire of jeans and a skimpy tee with a tool belt around her waist, Miller was determined to make this house just the way she imagined. She wanted to do it herself. As she straightened, she jumped as a voice spoke from the front porch. Jules Callander - He’s a successful photographer, but his family has somewhat dubious connections.“Jules is one fantastic photographer. Just so natural at it. His prints sell for big money.” Miller was curious after Evan’s remarks about his friend. As she sat with a drink before crawling between the sheets, she pulled up Jules Callander’s name on the web. “Wow,” she said out loud. “He is actually really famous and he was impressed by my handiwork. Well there’s a compliment I can live with.” She switched off the tablet and her eyes closed almost immediately. The work in the house and the evening meal at Jazz’s house was taking its toll. Sleep washed over her like a comfortable blanket. The last image in her head was Jules Callander pointing his tiny camera at her and the new front door. ungekürzt. Language: English. A journey along one of Britain's oldest roads, from Dover to Anglesey, in search of the hidden history that makes us who we are today. Long ago a path was created by the passage of feet tramping through endless forests. Gradually that path became a track, and the track became a road. It connected the White Cliffs of Dover to the Druid groves of the Welsh island of Anglesey, across a land that was first called Albion then Britain, Mercia and eventually England and Wales. Armies from Rome arrived and straightened this 444 kilometres of meandering track, which in the Dark Ages gained the name Watling Street. Today, this ancient road goes by many different names: the A2, the A5 and the M6 Toll. It is a palimpsest that is always being rewritten. Watling Street is a road of witches and ghosts, of queens and highwaymen, of history and myth, of Chaucer, Dickens and James Bond. Along this route Boudicca met her end, the Battle of Bosworth changed royal history, Bletchley Park code breakers cracked Nazi transmissions and Capability Brown remodelled the English landscape. The myriad people who use this road every day might think it unremarkable, but, as John Higgs shows, it hides its secrets in plain sight. Watling Street is not just the story of a route across our island but an acutely observed, unexpected exploration of Britain and who we are today, told with wit and flair and an unerring eye for the curious and surprising.PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.  ungekürzt. The book offers some natural hair care tips. This publication also offers advice to those who have been natural for less than three years. Based on trial and error, the author, who wears her hair natural, has learned what works for her hair and what does not work. From using a straightening comb on her hair to not getting enough nutrients in her body, she has made a lot of mistakes over the years in regards to her hair. She has learned a valuable lesson: what you eat and drink in turn can reflect how your hair looks. One year she mostly ate vegetables and sometimes would eat fish. That is the year her hair flourished. Also, she consumed Fiji water, which she has found was good for her skin and hair. If you have curly hair or tightly coiled hair, it can sometimes be well...how should this be put: just a pain. In this publication, there are tips on how you can maintain your hair and the author offers some humorous stories about how she has had to deal with her own hair. The author, Alicia Mendsey, also known as Stephanie, has not chemically processed her hair in 10 years. She first transitioned from relaxed to natural in 2007. In February 2008, she had her hair cut short, removing the relaxed ends she had. It was initially a struggle for her to manage her hair. She would go to her hair stylist about four to five times a year. The stylist would style her hair in small two strand twists and sometimes straighten her hair. When Alicia would get her hair straightened, she felt alive. She loved her hair straight, and it was easier to manage. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Michelle Cronin. The whir of the helicopter drowned out every other noise around Caleb, even his own thoughts. It was a welcome respite. An intricate web of tactical planning had filled the recesses of his mind for the past 24 hours, but it was time. No more planning. It was another routine operation; go in, grab the bad guys and get out. He knew each move he was about to make, and every single step the seven men sitting next to him would take. He was sure of it; it was his job. He was responsible for the safety and well-being of every man in his squad, and simultaneously, for the success of the mission at hand. "Five minutes, Lieutenant," the man seated in the pilot seat hollered back to him, breaking up the monotonous whir. Every man around him straightened his spine and their muscles grew taught. It wasn't fear that had them at the ready, it was anticipation; the same anticipation that surged through his veins. In four minutes and 39 seconds, they'd be on the ground. In 15 minutes and nine seconds, they'd be in position, a mile and a half away from the landing zone. Within 30 minutes, their task would be complete: suspects apprehended, intel gathered and building secured. The 2,000 kilograms of cocaine housed in the building wasn't his problem, only the men selling it and their list of buyers. "Just get those bastards, Caleb," his S.O. had told him. "We'll clean up their mess later." In other words, another team would be deployed to round up the drugs once the area was secured. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Theresa Stephens. You see ladies, once you have properly trained your husband, he will completely be submissive. Your cuckold husband will submit to all your needs and tend to all your cravings sexually. You can also train him to take care of all the boring chores in your life, which allows you to focus on the more important things in life. Like sleeping long hours, taking long baths, going to the spa, long massages. The list goes on. Eve grinned as she spoke too the ladies in the room. "The best nice is that he will take all the humiliation you give to him, no matter what it is. This comes into play when you have had a bad day, like someone cutting you off on the road or someone looking at you the wrong way. You can come home and take your frustrations out on your husband. It is very satisfying.""You mean, we can subject them to any amount of humiliation?" Julie asked."Yes, Julie and he will love you unconditionally, no matter what humiliation you give him." Eve answered."What are some ways to humiliate our husbands?" Heather asked."There are dozens upon dozens of ways to humiliate your husband. Start out slow at first, work them into it, then go for the more severe humiliation." Eve turned to her husband and said, "Stand up.""Yes, Mistress." Immediately, Jake stood up."First, you need to set boundaries on how he should respond to you. Always have him speak only when spoken to. Second, have him address you as Mistress or Goddess, or whatever you prefer him to call you. I personally prefer Mistress. Whatever it is, get that straightened out right away." She then looks over to Jake. "Strip naked now.""Yes, Mistress." Jake immediately pulled his shorts off. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Candy Kross. About Railroad Raiders: The focus of this selection concerns both the Federal and Confederate efforts to disable or maintain the railroads within the active theaters of the war. Real railroads of iron and steam and ribbons of steel vanishing into the horizon quickly became a strategic objective of both armies in the Civil War. Raiders and protectors were deployed both North and South. The damage inflicted on roadways and rolling stock was not always easy to accomplish. The simplest method of slowing a train was to remove a small section of rail, but once spotted the gap was not difficult to repair. Both sides learned to tear up long sections of track, pile up and set fire to the ties, and heat and bend the iron. This was temporarily effective, but the rails could often be reheated, straightened out, and spiked back into place. The destruction of bridges, trestles, rolling stock, and especially engines was more difficult and expensive to undo. It was found that to permanently disable a locomotive, however, smashing cylinder heads, pumps, links, and valve stems was not enough. The parts had to be scattered, taken away, or buried or thrown into an inaccessible body of water. It is the author's purpose to record this often under-reported aspect of the Civil War for both military and railroading enthusiasts. Most Civil War historians concentrate on the strategic and military aspects of the railroading industry, and they rather uncritically mention engineering and other technical factors as if they were simply founded or well established. They were not. In many cases, the same sources and traditions are always quoted with no investigation into their accuracy, and no further understanding of the matter at hand is attempted. The Confederate Railroads, for instance, have only been given a detailed examination once. The Railroads of the Confederacy, by Robert Black (1952), was written 60 years ago. ungekürzt. Brace yourself, Frankie’s back, and he’s more outspoken and brilliantly inappropriate than ever. There are fears that this Christmas could see the start of a double-dip recession, or worse still a double-dip-with-misery-sprinkles and f**k-where’s-my-job?-sauce. Why not chuckle into the howling void as taloned fingers reach up to consume you with Frankie Boyle’s new book, Work! Consume! Die! In Work! Consume! Die! stand-up comedy's favourite pessimist, Frankie Boyle, offers his outrageous, laugh-out-loud, cynical rant on life as he knows it. He describes your reality as viewed through a bloodshot eye pressed against a shit-smeared telescope, focused on hell: Charlie Sheen’s life consists of going on huge drug benders with groups of porn stars. If he straightened himself out he could have a really mediocre career as a bit-part Hollywood actor. Playing the role of Martin Sheen’s corpse. He’s crazy like a fox! And also actually crazy. What a tragic waste, not being Charlie Sheen is. How majestic it will be for him to die, possibly quite soon, knowing that when they make a movie of his life, it will be a porno. The X Factor will be allowed to show product placements. That’s powerful advertising. Last series I realised that looking at the judges alone had made me subconsciously buy a gnome, a scrag-end of mutton, a vacuous mannequin and a suspected gay. The Taliban are running out of bullets. Operation "Get our troops to absorb them with their bodies" is finally paying off. The Taliban are finding it impossible to get hold of essential supplies – at last we’re fighting on equal terms. But let’s not get complacent. Just because they’re running out of bullets we mustn’t assume our boys won’t get shot. Remember, the US troops have still got plenty. ungekürzt. Language: English. In the third book of the Swamp Series, visit the New Orleans area and a small town in the Louisiana swamp another time, where love crosses obsession and where deception, secrets, and murder are hidden in troubled minds in the streets of the city and behind a dark curtain of Spanish moss. Slip into the web of suspense where situations get sizzling and edgy, killers lurk, and passion runs hot and deep. Take a walk and get friendly with the warm and furry, once more.Domeno's skin crawled as if something had skittered along his shoulders. Emile stood a few feet away, the edges of his teeth showing behind the gray-toned skin. That same bony structure that had been misshapen and malformed months before had straightened, and the gobs and patches of hair that once covered his entire body were only wisps. His mismatched eyes held a reddish tint, not the solid wolf red of a shift, but close. Had another full moon worked that magic? Or, was it his double wolf genes? The man stood at the end of the crudely constructed table and studied the naked girl. Leather cuffs around her wrists and ankles bound her to the table, and a pair of leather straps, one across her chest, below her breasts, and one across her pale thighs. He had removed all her clothing except her shoes. She really should have let herself get more sun, he thought. The first girl he killed had been an accident, but none of them since had been accidental. The ball of white fur and gold eyes peered up at the man when he removed the lid. It waited a moment, as if judging the situation, placed one cautious paw at a time over the edge of the box, and climbed out. It could have easily been a dog, an overgrown puppy, but it wasn't. "Wolf!" the man cried, an instant before the animal sank its fangs into his throat with a snarling shriek and toppled him to the ground. ungekürzt.
