Children
The Children... is the music project from actor/performing artist Michael Wiener, downtown theater veteran and recently, festival film circuit regular, and composer/producer Jim Coleman, former mainstay of Cop Shoot Cop, and lately engaged in scoring cable television and film productions, as well as releasing material under the monikers of PHYLR and here. The duo are joined by percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Phil Puleo, also of Cop, and Swans. He continues to work with Swans' Michael Gira on Gira's new project, Angels of Light. Barkmarket bassist John N. holds down the low frequencies, and John Andersen helps spin the acoustic-textural environ. Other players rotate in and out as recurring collaborators. Their raw, visceral, soul music speaks of the future, interpolating haunting ballads, yearning anthems, and aggro rockers into an enveloping sonic tapestry that bleeds into itself, sanctified and transformative.- Shop: odax
