The Alchemist: by Paulo Coelho | Summary & Analysis , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 31min
The Alchemist is the mystic story of Santiago, who is a young and adventurous Andalusian shepherd boy. Santiago desires to travel in pursuit of a worldly treasure as profligate as any ever found. He hailed from Spain and journeyed to the markets of Tangiers through the Egyptian desert where he had a fateful encounter with the alchemist. He is troubled with a recurring dream he has each time he sleeps under a sycamore tree that grew out of the relics of a church. Throughout the dream, a child speaks to him to search for treasure at the foot of the Egyptian pyramids. He made consultation with a gypsy woman to construe the dream, and to his surprise she articulates that he should go to Egypt. Melchizedek, who is represented as an outlandish, magical old man and claimed to be the King of Salem, repeated the advice of the gypsy woman and told Santiago that it is his personal legend to travel to the pyramids. Melchizedek influenced Santiago to sell his flock and set off to Tangier. On arrival to Tangier, a thief robs Santiago forcing him to look for work with a local crystal merchant. The conventional and kindhearted merchant teaches Santiago numerous lessons, and Santiago emboldens the merchant to take possibilities with his business. The risks pay off, and Santiago turns into a wealthy man within a year. Please note: This is a summary and analysis of Paulo Coelho' s book The Alchemist. ungekürzt. Language: English. The Rain in Spain: Lydia Gets in More Trouble on Charlie's European Location Shoots, Challenging Him and Their "Spanking Marriage": The Discipline for a Lasting Marriage Series, Book 13 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 136min, (USK 18)
As Charlie films in and around Madrid, Craig and Lydia join him, along with Craig's adored and adoring nanny, Maybelle. All seems to be going smoothly until Lydia and Charlie have a minor disagreement about building a treehouse for Craig. And Charlie must warn Lydia - as part of their spanking contract - to leave the project to him. Within days, a heavy rain comes and Lydia worries the raw, untreated wood of the treehouse kit will be ruined. So she makes a fateful decision about the kit that puts them cross-wise of each other when he returns to the villa. Then Charlie brings home two of the Andalusian horses featured in his movie, so he can train with them. And soon finds Lydia, an unskilled rider, up on one of the horses in the exercise yard, never mind their spanking contract says she must only ride horseback accompanied by a skilled rider. Note: This book contains vivid descriptions of sexual activity, domestic discipline, the spanking of an adult woman, anal sex, and anal discipline. If such scenes offend you or trigger you, please do not purchase this book. In addition, the series is also about two young, devoted married people growing and maturing together over the course of multiple story lines; they are flawed, loving, devoted human beings, and therefore make mistakes they try to correct. If you are looking for perfect people, look elsewhere. Finally, please note: Any resemblance to real people, living or dead, is unintended and coincidental. ungekürzt. Language: English. The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba: The History and Legacy of the Moors’ Greatest Holy Site in Spain , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 82min
“To Córdoba belong all the beauty and ornaments that delight the eye or dazzle the sight. Her long line of Sultans form her crown of glory; her necklace is strung with the pearls which her poets have gathered from the ocean of language; her dress is of the banners of learning, well-knit together by her men of science; and the masters of every art and industry are the hem of her garments...” - Stanley Lane-Poole, The Moors in SpainThe Calle Cardenal Herrero in Córdoba is an iconic cobbled street impossible to overlook, for it is home to the Andalusian city's spectacular Mosque-Cathedral. Also known as “La Mezquita,” this one-of-a-kind Moorish and Christian place of worship reels in about 1.5 million visitors each year, most of whom find themselves spellbound by its hypnotic architectural features and the riveting history that has transpired and continues to within the beautifully weathered walls of the dual-church. That said, the Mezquita is far more than a mere tourist attraction. In recent years, the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba has become the crux of a complicated religious conflict resurrected by impassioned worshipers and patriotic locals who fear not only for the future of its legacy, but the preservation of its true history. It is easy for those on the outside looking in to make hasty judgments about the ongoing dispute, considering the endless amount of information that is uploaded Online by the second. The contentious debates surrounding the Mezquita are often products of outdated prejudices, festering distrust, and whitewashing, all of which make it harder for the Mezquita to remain a non-discriminatory space serviceable to and appreciated by everyone today. ungekürzt.
