The Assassination of Orange: A Foreworld SideQuest , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 130min
There's a bounty out for Prince William of Orange...and "alive" is not an option. The Dutch are trying to free themselves from the Spanish yolk, and the dynamic and charismatic revolutionary, William of Orange, is risking life and limb for the nation he so desperately loves. But when the Spanish monarch offers glory, titles, and twenty thousand crowns for the man who can silence William, the battle for the Netherlands becomes an assassin's game. Celebrated Welsh mercenary Roger Williams is ordered by the crown of England to protect the prince at all costs, and while the Welsh mercenary has many years of battlefield experience, the cat and mouse of political assassination is a much different fight. The enemy is faceless, its tactics are unknown, and there will be little or no warning before the attempt is made. His second marriage, to the shrewd and tough businesswoman, Bridget, offered a way out. Bridget, prosperous head of her own company, wanted to take Kellycoryk over for development and although Roger hated the idea Bridget refused to save the estate in any other way. No Deals, Mr President
The story is centred on the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, when the world came closest to all-out nuclear war. It begins with a scene in the White House, where Bobby Kennedy, the US Attorney General, faces the greatest challenge of his career: the confrontation between the superpowers over the installation of nuclear weapons on the island of Cuba. The main narrative explores the motivations and actions of Roger, a British industrial chemist, who, after attending his retirement party in 2010, wakes the following morning to find himself back in 1962, and now 18 years old again. Recovering from the shock of this time-shift, Roger realises that he can foresee the major trends of the following half-century, and sees it as his duty to warn the world of potential dangers. The publication of an article in the national press results in a television appearance in which Roger reveals a momentous secret: the Russians are planning to install nuclear missiles in Cuba, threatening US cities with destruction. After the show a young woman lures Roger to an apartment in London, where Soviet agents offer inducements in return for his cooperation. He tries to evade further such encounters by fleeing to various locations in England, including the home of a songwriter in Hertfordshire. On a visit to London, an attempt is made on Roger's life, but the songwriter's teenage daughter is killed in error. Roger again has to flee, but is now invited by the CIA to travel to Washington DC, where a mysterious encounter awaits him. There he meets 19-year-old Simon, a Virginian, and it dawns on the two of them that both have experienced the same time-shift from 2010 to 1962. Simon plants in Roger's mind a belief in American invincibility, and the need to stand up to Khrushchev, the Soviet leader, rather than offering to make any deals with him. A road accident hospitalises Simon and brings Roger into contact with schoolboy Kurt Dreschel. Shortly after this, Roger is interviewed on American TV, where he echoes Simon's brash views on the Cuban crisis. As autumn approaches, tension between the superpowers escalates to the point where fighting breaks out on the high seas. Roger fears that his return to 1962, though full of good intentions, has led to a string of disasters, with the ultimate one looming. An apparent nuclear strike is the last thing he remembers before waking up back in 2010. There he encounters Dreschel once again, now an ageing history professor on a lecture tour of the UK. The two of them astound each other with their respective insights, but a profound mystery remains to the very end.- Shop: buecher

Recipe for Fun: One Dominant Male and Two Submissive Males , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 54min, (USK 18)
When it comes to submissive behavior, I get so overly excited when talking to a man, especially when it is sexual talk and commands to follow certain types of orders. Whether it is verbal or physical, I have a tendency to lean towards the submissive side, always. Maybe it was because my boyfriend was so dominant over me, that he trained me well to obey his every command, that and his lover's. I had been with Mark when he decided to take on another lover beside myself. When Roger came into the picture, I was pushed back to the burner of the proverbial sexual stove. The fire between us had diminished, well, extinguished if you really want to get technical and stay with the whole "fire" motif. I had caught them in bed together one night after coming home from work. I heard the moans and groans and recognized them as Mark's. But, Roger's were alien to me at the time and I felt a pit in my stomach. I walked into our bedroom, the one we had shared for several months and there on the bed was Mark and Roger' full speed and entwined together. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Kevin Kyle. Man Plus , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 435min
Roger Torraway watched in horror as the monster lurched, toppled over and died. Project Man Plus had gone suddenly and drastically wrong. The race to colonize Mars was too important, too costly, and America was already too committed, for plans to be scrapped. They would have to make a new Martian. And Roger Torraway was it, candidate for the endless surgery, operation after painful operation, that would enable him to survive on that faraway planet. Man Plus is a thrilling race against time - to land on Mars on schedule, to insure that Roger's system will withstand the stress that killed the previous candidate. And meanwhile, somewhere, somehow, there has been a breakdown in the computer network.... With the edge-of-the-chair excitement and suspense, four-time Hugo Award winner Frederik Pohl tells the story of the remaking of man into Man Plus, creating in Roger an unforgettable character, grotesque in appearance but totally human in feeling - capable of yearning, depression, love, jealousy, terror. BONUS AUDIO: In an exclusive introduction, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author Robert J. Sawyer explains why Man Plus is one of science fiction's all-time greatest novels. ungekürzt.
