2016 Château d'Armailhac 5. Grand Cru Classé Pauillac A.C.
Lesen Sie, was die Kritiker über ihn schreiben: Wine Advocate: 93/100 Punkte »Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 D'Armailhac opens with gregarious crème de cassis, blackberry pie and mulberries scents with hints of chocolate box, roses and charcoal with a waft of dried sage. Medium-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid frame of firm, grainy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and earthy.« Trinkgenuss: 2021 bis 2041 Weinwisser: 18/20 Punkte »… (62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot) Seidenes, feines Bouquet, blaue Beeren, Heidelbeeren, Damassinepflaumen, Pralinen. Süsser, feingliedriger, frischer Gaumen mit kräftiger Frucht, feinem Tannin, duftiger Aromatik, langer, eleganter Abgang.« James Suckling: 95/100 Punkte »This is a really driven d’Armailhac showing blackcurrants and fruit tea with hints of bark on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, very firm and structured with a long and powerful finish. Direct and linear. Try after 2023.« Wine Spectator: 93/100 Punkte »This juicy red sports dark plum, fig and boysenberry fruit backed by an equally strong wave of bramble and sweet tobacco notes. The cast-iron spine pins down the finish, so give this a little time to integrate fully. Best from 2023 through 2038.«- Shop: Ludwig von Kapff

2017 2017 Chateau Plince Pomerol In 6er Holzkiste
(91 Punkte) Wine Spectator: 87-90/100 Punkte "Accessible, with rounded boysenberry and raspberry fruit laced with light spice and tea details. The open-knit feel will make this tasty right out of the gate." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 89-91/100 Punkte "A final blend of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Plince offers up intense crème de cassis, blueberry pie and licorice notes with touches of bay leaves, cinnamon stick and violets. The palate is medium-bodied with a chewy frame and lively line supporting the muscular fruit, finishing on an earthy note." Decanter: 89/100 Punkte "A serious tannic structure makes this austere and gripping. It's from 8.3ha of what Moueix describes as dark soil on an iron pan, which translates as clay and sand (Moueix distributes but the estate is owned by the Moreau family). This wine is hard to work your way through at first, but there are gorgeously nuanced, tight cassis notes with liquorice root, floral touches and menthol. The shields are fully up at this stage but give it time, as this is promising and should age well. Drinking Window 2026 – 2038” Wine Enthusiast: 91/100 Punkte "Barrel Sample. This is a ripe yet finely perfumed wine, with gentle tannins and layers of delicious black fruits. There is good balance thanks to ample acidity to counter the full, rich and rounded palate. Ideal for early drinking." James Suckling: 93/100 Punkte "A firm and silky red with blackberry and chocolate character. Medium body, medium tannins and a juicy finish." 2017 Château Clos Fourtet 1. GRAND CRU CLASS B SAINT-MILION A.C.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 92-94/100 Punkte "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Clos Fourtet is scented of crème de cassis, blueberry compote and plum preserves with touches of hoisin, truffles and dark chocolate plus a waft of anise. Medium to full-bodied, the generous fruit is plushly textured with great freshness, finishing long and spicy." James Suckling: 94/100 Punkte "A very sexy young wine with a solid center palate and refined, integrated tannins. Medium body. Everything is in the right place." Wine Spectator: 93-96/100 Punkte "Intense, with blackberry, cassis and boysenberry puree notes racing through, inlaid with subtle anise and black tea details. Offers a gorgeous feel, with a long, fine-grained chalky spine buried on the finish. A beauty." Vinous (Neal Martin): 92-94/100 Punkte "The 2017 Clos Fourtet has a powerful, almost burly bouquet with upfront, quite bold blackberry, raspberry and strawberry fruit that maybe miss the precision of some of the appellation's more elegant offerings. There is just a touch of cassis and violet that emerges with continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, more rounded in texture than its peers. There is impressive volume towards the finish that is uncommon in this vintage, but you have to just stand back and admire its persistence." Decanter: 94/100 Punkte "Good quality with depth of complexity and layers. An excellent Clos Fourtet that really lives up to the success of recent vintages, if not quite at the level of its 2015 and 2016. Damson, dark chocolate and saline notes are bolstered by extremely dark fruits that have the juice to carry them through the mid-palate, the oak supporting rather than overwhelming. There's a slight austerity and savoury edge to the fruit that speaks of 2017, but this is easily hitting the heights of St-Émilion in this vintage. 2015 2015 Château La Mondotte 1. Grand Cru Classé B Saint-Émilion A.C.
La Mondotte setzt in Sachen Urgewalt Maßstäbe. (95+ Punkte) Wine Advocate: 94-96/100 Punkte The 2015 La Mondotte is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc picked on 18 September and 7 October respectively, then aged in 80% new oak after a 33-day vatting. It has a dense, opulent and very concentrated bouquet that is driven by the super-intense Merlot, though as I mention in my accompanying introduction, the alcohol is contained and not at all apparent. The palate is very well balanced with rounded, supple tannin. There is a lot of weight in the mouth here, very focused and intense with blackberry and raspberry fruit, fine mineralité and tension, leading to an almost pixelated finish. This is an impressive La Mondotte for sure, though the 2015 Canon la Gaffeliere might offer more intellect. Trinkgenuss: 2024 bis 2037 Wine Spectator: 98/100 Punkte "Gorgeous, with dark blackberry and boysenberry fruit rippling along from start to finish, carried by mouthwatering anise notes. The long finish unfurls slowly, dripping with fruit while maintaining poise. Stunning." James Suckling: 99/100 Punkte "A phenomenal La Mondotte. The purity and intensity is so amazing. Full body, super fine and creamy tannins. The clarity is great. You can see that they have pulled back on the new wood and went for transparency. Wow."- Shop: Ludwig von Kapff

2017 Château Haut Batailley tbd
Château Haut-Batailley wird in diesem Jahr das erste Mal von dem neuen Besitzern um Jean-Michel Cazes kreiert. Und schon im ersten Jahr ist die Handschrift des Teams zu erkennen – eine Aufwertung und somit einer der Must-Haves des Jahrgangs 2017. Achtung, die Mengen sind sehr begrenzt! Decanter: 92/100 Punkte "The first year under the Cazes family, and we can expect big changes over the next few years with an extensive replanting programme planned. But for now, let's look at 2017, where production has been split 33% second wine and 66% grand vin, with no frost to hamper them. It's rich and deep, with a sense of forward motion and flexible tannins pushing the cassis fruit from start to finish, joined by focussed and lively brambled fruits and gentle cedar smoking. The austerity is clear, and it's a little lighter-framed than the Lynch Bages, and very different in personality, but it has real promise and I like it enormously. Expect a new label with the Tour d'Aspic tower and the JM Cazes family name. 60% new oak. Drinking Window 2025 – 2036” James Suckling: 93/100 Punkte "This is very structured and serious. Full-bodied, tannic and powerful. Boom. This is one of the best Haut-Batailleys in years. From the new owners, who also own Lynch-Bages." Wine Spectator: 89-92/100 Punkte "This has good currant and damson fruit lined with tobacco and iron notes. Offers slightly dusty tannins but remains fresh and focused overall." Vinous (Neal Martin): 90-92/100 Punkte "The 2017 Haut Batailley, which is matured in 60% new oak for 18 months, is clearly more sophisticated than the second wine, polished by the oak of course but underneath its intense blackberry and boysenberry fruit, quite floral with touches of violet and iris. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, well-integrated oak and very smooth polished finish that glides across the mouth. There is fine precision on the finish. Tasted twice with consistent notes. Trinkreife: 2020-2032" Bitte beachten Sie die Sonderbedingungen der Subskription in unseren AGB.- Shop: Ludwig von Kapff

Kappy King and the Pie Kaper , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 464min
Kathryn "Kappy" King's skill at making kapps for the Amish women of Blue Sky, Pennsylvania, are unparalleled. But she's also dangerously good at discovering dark truths beneath this peaceful valley....When an "accident" puts beloved bishop's wife Alma Ebersol in a coma, many in Blue Sky are quick to blame struggling widow Frannie Lehman. Both women are the best bakers around, but for years, Alma's boysenberry pies have been more award-winning - and profitable - than Frannie's. And with Alma out of this fall's county festival, Frannie's pie finally wins first prize. But when Alma dies and Frannie's children fall victim to gossip and bullying, Kappy is determined to uncover the real truth. Soon, Kappy and her outcast friend Edie have their hands full of odd clues. What do Alma's strange last words mean? Why would someone break into her house just to steal a quilt? Who is the mysterious new pie maker in town - and why is she still in Blue Sky after losing the festival competition? When long-buried family secrets and contested legacies start getting into the mix, Kappy and Edie must work fast before another victim gets a deadly pie in the face.... ungekürzt. Language: English. 2018 Château Troplong Mondot 1. GRAND CRU CLASSÉ B SAINT-ÉMILION A.C.
James Suckling: 97-98/100 Punkte »The focus to this wine sets a new standard for Troplong Mondot with density and minerality that I have not encountered for decades. Lots of slate and white-pepper character. Tight and very dense. Full body. Balanced. Wild mineral character and freshness here. Precise.« Decanter: 97/100 Punkte »One of the stories of the 2018 vintage in Bordeaux was Troplong Mondot bringing in its first grapes on 7 September. Proof, many suggested, of director Aymeric de Gironde going too far in his quest to rewrite Troplong's powerful style. It certainly made me excited to try this wine, and I hope the sceptics were too, because this is a brilliant Troplong. Oh, and although around 80% of the grapes did come in during those first 10 days, the final harvest date was 10 October. There's clear depth just in the colour alone, and impressive complexity on the nose. There's still a whole lot of Troplong strength and concentration here, you can't get away from that with these clay and flint over limestone soils, but now it is softer, with more minerality. The relatively high alcohols are apparent in the texture but not as heat. I love the persistency here, as it drags things out in the most delicious of ways, with a slate and white pepper finish. Of the new vineyards bought (4ha from Clos Labarde and 6ha from Bellisle Mondotte), everything is in the second wine this year. The château will probably ask for some sections to be included in the grand vin in the next classification in 2022. 3.56pH. Thomas Duclos consults. Drinking Window 2027 - 2042« Wine Spectator: 95-98/100 Punkte »This offers a lovely display of boysenberry, cherry and plum fruit, yet stays refined and focused, relying on purity as this glides through. Has weight but feels silky, with a flinty mineral hint adding cut on the finish.« Wine Enthusiast: 95-97/100 Punkte »Barrel Sample. The tannins are beautifully integrated into this velvet-textured wine. It has density and richness allied to concentration. At the same time, it has kept wonderful freshness and acidity to give it fine lift. The aging potential is obvious.« Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 93-95+/100 Punkte »The 2018 Troplong Mondot is blended of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, with 14.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.56. Deep garnet-purple in color, it begins slowly with bold, bright black raspberries, ripe black plums, fresh blackberries and Morello cherries notes, giving way to underlying scents of tobacco, wild sage, Sichuan pepper, black olives, truffles and Marmite toast with hints of crushed stones and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers wonderfully fresh, energetic black fruit with a downright racy line of freshness (uncommon for this vintage) and firm, rounded tannins, finishing long with lots of mineral, earth and dried herbs layers giving beautiful electric sparks.« Weinwisser: 19/20 »85 % Merlot, 13 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 2 % Cabernet Franc, 14,5 % vol., 49 hl/ha.
