A Code of the Heart: The Code Breaker Series, Book 3 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 347min
Miss Amelia Bonnington has been in love with her childhood hero since she was 11 years old. Or so she thought until a not-so-proper impassioned and unyielding kiss from the not-so-honorable and equally disreputable Lord Derrick Brinsley gave her reason to question the feelings of the heart. Lord Brinsley, shunned from society for running off with his brother's fiancée, hasn't cared about or questioned his lack of acceptance until meeting the beguiling Amelia Bonnington. One passionate moment with the fiery Miss Bonnington has him more than willing to play by society's rules to possess the breathtaking red-haired woman. Amelia unwittingly becomes embroiled in espionage when she stumbles upon a smuggling ring in the modiste shop of her good friend. To prove her French friend's innocence, she dangerously jumps into the fray, jeopardizing more than her life. On undercover assignment to prevent the French from stealing the Royal Navy's deadly weapon, Derrick must fight to protect British secrets from falling into the hands of foreign agents and the chance at love with the only woman capable of redeeming him. ungekürzt. The Dressmaker of Dachau , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 699min
Spanning the intense years of war, The Dressmaker of Dachau is a dramatic tale of love, conflict, betrayal, and survival. It is the compelling story of one young woman's resolve to endure and of the choices she must make at every turn - choices which will contain truths she must confront. London, spring 1939. Eighteen-year-old Ada Vaughan, a beautiful and ambitious seamstress, has just started work for a modiste in Dover Street. A career in couture is hers for the taking - she has the skill and the drive - if only she can break free from the dreariness of family life in Lambeth. A chance meeting with the enigmatic Stanislaus von Lieben catapults Ada into a world of glamour and romance. When he suggests a trip to Paris, Ada is blind to all the warnings of war on the continent: This is her chance for a new start. Anticipation turns to despair when war is declared, and the two are trapped in France. When the Nazis invade, Stanislaus abandons her, and she is taken prisoner, sent to Germany as slave labour, and forced to survive on her wits alone. Resilient at every turn, Ada finds the strength that extremity breeds and survives the only way she knows how: by being a dressmaker. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Julie Teal. Merely a Miss: Lord Rotheby's Influence, Book 3 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 607min
Miss Jane Matthews feels completely out of place amongst the finery of the ton. She's the daughter of a country vicar, for goodness sake, and nearly a spinster to boot. Frankly, she would prefer to stay that way. How can a lady of Quality start up her own modiste shop, after all? But when her distant cousin-the Dowager Duchess of Somerton, of all people-offers to sponsor her for a Season in London, she agrees, but only so she can take the opportunity to search for a storefront for her business. Perhaps, in that regard, the Season won't all be in vain. The widower of a loveless marriage, Peter Hardwicke, the Duke of Somerton, has already done his duty and provided an heir for his dukedom, so he sees no reason whatsoever to remarry. Even if, heaven forbid, something should happen to his son, he still has three younger brothers who are each quite capable of inheriting. Taking a wife would only mean adding a new responsibility to his already too-full schedule. He's more than busy enough keeping his mother, siblings, and children in line-not to mention sorting out the myriad problems plaguing one of his estates. But when Lord Utley, one of Peter's childhood friends and a man who has been on the wrong side of Peter's ire for many years now, takes an unlikely interest in Jane, he has to intervene. Peter will be damned if he'll allow Utley to ruin yet another life. But will rescuing Jane from Utley's clutches land Peter with another loveless marriage? ungekürzt. Language: English.
